“Famous old street”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013

Fleet street was the centre of the British newspaper industry for over 400 years, now all moved to Canary Wharf. Not a lot to see or do except for a few old buildings and pubs. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese being one of them. Worth a visit.

“A (famous) London street”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

Fleet Street is one of those London attractions, like Carnaby Street and Abbey Road, that is an attraction purely on the strength of its name. In fact, at least Carnaby Street still sells clothes, and Abbey Road is a working studio, whereas no publishing is done from Fleet Street these days. So while there’s history to it, there’s nothing specific to see or do, other than admire the buildings themselves. It's a landmark, rather than an attraction, as categorised in Trip Advisor.

“Read all about it! Worth a visit if you like buildings!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 September 2013

Although no longer the hub of the British newspaper industry, Fleet Street is still quite special in it's appearance and atmosphere. I visited on a work day and the Royal Courts of Justice is a fabulous building to admire!

“Possibly the most interesting street in London..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

When you first think of Fleet Street ,you feel that this is going to be a boring place, but no. it is a special street , full of special buildings and institutions and a wonder to visit. Whatever your opinion of journalists might be , it will take on a new meaning after walking along this street and it's environs. To visit London and not wander along this street is to miss the very core of what Britain is all about.

“Home of The British National Press”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2013

Fleet Street was the home of British national newspapers until the 1980s. The last one to leave was Reuters in 2005 but the term Fleet Street still continues to be used as a metonym for the British national press.
