This hostel is not a place for travellers. It is better suited to people coming to London long term, while they look for permanent accommodation - there were many people there doing this.
The hostel charged extra for everything - lockers, internet access, MAPS. The people at reception were not organised or particularly friendly. There were no common areas to sit in. There were no where near enough bathrooms or toilets for the number of people living there. Most mornings were spent wandering around for at least 20 minutes trying to find a vacant one - and many had no mirrors or power points. All were extremely dirty and run down.
The free breakfast is held in a kitchen that feels more like a dungeon. It is the most basic of basic food - white bread, jam and cornflakes. Staff running breakfast are unfriendly and unapproachable. We never cooked in this kitchen ourselves but every morning there was a large pile of dirty dishes in the sink.
The only plus to this hostel was its location and that the beds had curtains. However, I'm positive there are much nicer ones out there with the same.More
