The hotel was lovely....however although the front of the hotel is outside of the congestion zone the back is not! Having checked that I would not need to pay the charge for the journey I was making I arrived at the hotel with a friend who went to check about parking. We were directed around the back of the hotel for by a member of staff with no warning as to the repercussions! Their lack of thought have lead to me being produced a £65 fine. Not great.

I would like to apologise about the inconvenience you have experienced with the congestion charge. I can understand a member of staff informing you that you had entered a congestion zone could have avoided this situation.

Thank you for your feedback and we shall make sure the team make other guests aware of the congestion zone as I can understand how frustrating this may be for yourself and other guest’s.

Once again we are sincerely sorry for the situation you have faced and we really hope this does not affect your choice to stay with us again.

We hope to see you soon.

Kind Regards,

Nikita

A lovely hotel. Beautiful and clean in such contrast to the street (old Kent rd) you come in from. Room was small but neat and comfortable, the bed was amazing!! Staff are very friendly and helpful and there's even a Chinese restaurant next door with an entrance straight from the lobby. One thing though....bring your own coffee! Yuk!
Other than that can't really fault the place. Lovely.

The week before we had visited the nearby Tower Hill Premier Inn and had been very impressed. We were unable to get a reservation there so even though Tower Bridge was further from work we were happy to try. It was a wonderful stay! Amazingly comfy beds, spotless rooms, charming and attentive staff and a great location. Bermondsey Street is just round the corner and is great for quirky shops and cafes and a super place to people watch.

Good solid Premier Inn with walking distance access to the Tower of London - surroundings look sparce on restaurants except for Pizza Johns takeaway (v good) and posh Argentinian Steak bar but turn left and walk 150 yards and there are nice pubs and cafes after the railway bridge too

As a fairly regular user of Premier Inn, we were surprised at the service from a specific receptionist at this Inn.
On arrival we were only given one room key (not a big worry), however on arrival at our room (5th floor) the key didn't work. Once my husband had returned to reception for replacement keys we entered the room to find it was a double - we had booked a family room.
At reception the original receptionist took back my paper work once I explained the issue and promptly told me I hadn't booked a family room!
Surprising for two reasons; the paper work clearly stated a family room plus you don't expect to be contradicted in this way.
All was quicky sorted out with the support of a colleague - a blip but still surprising.
In all other respects, the hotel and staff were up to the normal high standard and of course we had a great night's sleep!

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor looking over the DLR (Docklands rail line) and we were not disturbed by the...
