Instead of renting 2 rotten rooms....this Single Mom rented one very nice room and Daughter and I shared the large bed and my son slept on a cot. It is worth the price as you can walk to all the major sights and have the Tube station close by ( as well as Scotland Yard). Decent breakfast not steller but nice environment. I found it really interesting that foreign dignitaries would be milling around the lobby as Parliment is around the corner as well. Read up on the History of White Hall Palace to tell your roommate. Also there are cheaper rooms in London....but you will end up paying more for transportation. To save money print Tube maps before you go!

Room Tip: We stay on one of the highest floors...quieter I think then anything lower.

Stayed here for 2 nights withe relatives from the US. The hotel is at the side of the British Museum and is a great location for shopping in Oxford Street and theatre land with 10 minute walk to Charing across Road and Shaftesbury Avenue. The room was large and comfortable, the only criticism was the bathroom was small and in need of a touch up. The room came with a buffet breakfast that was included and was excellent. All round a great hotel in a great location.

Very good location with easy access to two Tube stations. We were upgraded to a nice room complete with 4 poster bed. The staff were very helpfull , and we had a very nice meal on the first night we were there.( We had the run of the Dining room , as we were the only two in there!)

Breakfast was slightly more caotic as the waiter who I knew as 'Manuel' was slightly confused by our arrival at breakfast , and stuck us in the conservatory on a communal table! However the continental style breakfast was good!

We were visiting the British Museum , which literally was 100 yards away!

I would definately use again.

I stayed for one night with a friend on 23rd May. I have stayed in one of the sister hotels before and chose this one on location as wanted to be near Oxford St.

We stayed in Room 106 on first floor (superior twin room). The room itself was a good size (i've stayed in much smaller rooms for more money in central London), with two lovely floor to ceiling sash windows looking out on a balcony and the garden, and the British Museum which the hotel backs on to. The room and bathroom were nice and clean and in a good standard of repair. Really good shower!

My only gripes about the room was that the twin beds were basically pushed together, although made up as separate beds - this wasn't really a problem for me and my friend, but others might have found it to be. Im guessing though in an executive room there would be more space, so would probably not be an issue.

Also there were some air conditioner units/fan units sited on the roof behind where the conservatory is, which were on all the time - this wasn't a problem in the day as i didn't notice it, but the whirring did keep me awake a little when i went to bed. I did also get very hot in the night, but that was remedied by opening window.

Breakfast wasn't a vast selection, and the croissants had seen better days (they were pretty tough), although i did enjoy the meat and cheese and my toast. Was a little disappointed to only find out after leaving the hotel, that my free breakfast included the option of a full english, which i would have opted for had i known. Think the staff should really have informed me when i entered the breakfast room. We were asked very promptly if we wanted tea or coffee, and i thought it was a nice touch that my friend was offered hot chocolate as she had declined the other two options...................unfortunately after 10 min i did have to chase up both drinks, but it was quite busy, so not a big problem.

All in all, i would return again as general hotel and the rooms are clean and staff were pleasant. I got a deal for £122 for the night with breakfast, which i thought was good value, as i have stayed in supposedly better hotels in central London for considerably more money, much smaller room and no breakfast. I wouldn't however stay here at the standard tariff rate of £230, as would expect a little more for that money.

Location is great for a spot of shopping and museums and is itself on a nice quiet road, tucked away from the hustle and bustle.

Our rooms were very nice. They were below street level so they could be a little noisy. If you're concerned about noise get a room facing the back which has a pretty garden. The staff was friendly and the location is perfect.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the back.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a theatre break in room 108, located next to a very noisey lift shaft. The room was very small made worse by the dressing table being too big, restricting access to the wardrobe. It was hot evening so with no air conditioning we had to have the window open and was woken up by refuse collectors at 6.30 on Sunday morning. On the positive side the staff were very friendly. I have stayed in much better London hotels for the same tariff. If you do stay I would suggest you give the offer of 2 for 1 afternoon tea in the sister hotel, The Grange Holborn a miss, £24 per person very average.

Room Tip: Make sure you are not near the lift shaft.
