It was definately a must see museum! There where so many things to see and it was a wonderful museum. Just wish we had more time to see everything. If you are in to history and airplanes you need to go!

“Boring Place”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Went as a school trip as it was near to the university I was attending. Was forced to look at the planes for almost two hours. Upon stepping into the museum, there was indeed the "wow" factor, and I was interested for the first few minutes, but nothing more than that. There was a little ceremony on the day we visited, as it was the remembrance day for the WWI warrior, but still this place wasn't worth a visit, in my opinion.

Thank you for your review.

Genuinely we are sorry that you did not get as much out of your visit as you would have liked given that as you stated in your review that we did have a real 'wow' factor when you first arrived.

We recognize that not everyone who visits us is a fan of aircraft or of the Royal Air Force. This is why we are now embarking on a development programme for our London site which will start to introduce a lot more interpretation to our various collections and a much more experiential visit with engaging events that help explain the history of our objects in what, we are confident, will be in an engaging and stimulating manner.

As various elements of this programme start to be rolled out, we will place news of them on our website and social media platforms such as Facebook & Twitter as well as in local and national press.

“Enormous and FREE!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We had an extended family meet up here - family travelling to London from the Midlands and South Wales. None of us had researched it first.... but we were all impressed.

The parking is £3 or £4 for 3 of 6 hours. As the museum was free I did not begrudge this at all. It's a huge car park.

The exhibit halls are like aircraft hangers.... literally! As we were with lots of young children I didn't get to read the information but I would have liked to. The Battle Of Britain exhibit, in a separate hall on the other side of the car park, looked very interesting and emotive but I was rushed through at the pace of a 2 year old!

The coffee shop was typically priced for such a place - expensive compared to a supermarket but not eye watering. Again - with entrance being free I was a little more willing than usual to pay.

We also paid to go in the flight simulator which was a lot more 'moving' than previous ones I have been on!

“Fantastic for the family.”
Reviewed 14 June 2014 via mobile

Took my wife, 6 year-old daughter and 3 year old son and had a brilliant 3 hours there. Large car park so parking is easy and unbelievably, free entrance to the museum. As the kids don't have an unlimited attention span at their ages we mainly concentrated on the aircraft and found the event a fantastic experience. Would be easy to spend a day there looking at all the other interesting items. The staff were helpful and the halls are beautifully presented. We ate in the restaurant, which is across the car park and had a reasonable meal but it took a long time to arrive. If your kids have an interest in aviation, a must to see.
