Through this heading I don't want to give the impression that the Strand is a washout, oh no. Running from Trafalgar Square to Fleet Street there are any number of shops, restaurants and impressive buildings, the Savoy hotel, St Mary le Strand church, the Royal Courts of Justice and not in the least of course Charing Cross Station. But the Strand is an extremely busy thoroughfare, were you walk mostly to go somewhere else. Covent Garden for instance, or through Villiers street to the Embankment and the Embankment Gardens, or to the Inns. But walking along the Strand you will!

Lots of shops, restaurants, pubs and theatres. Another main London thoroughfare, with some buildings to see and places to visit. Walking is the best way as they can be easily missed.

Restaurants, theater, shops; The Strand offers a great variety of options on which everyone can find something they enjoy. It's rather busy but still it's worth walking up and down the street at least once and get a feel of London.

This used to be the stylish thoroughfare for central london but has become neglected and rather run-down, although the Strand Palace is looking rather good after its refurbishment and new expensive apartments are about to open. The traffic makes it noisy and polluted and almost unbearbale in summer.

Love the Strand. Always busy, has a great feel of London and so many places run off it to pop along to for a diversion.
