Made a recent stop at McGlynn's Free House for a pint and to enjoy a bit of the footie. Prices were fine and the inside was small, cozy and decent, what you expect of a good local pub.

They have a small dining section in back and seem to serve up typical pub grub but we didn't try. A few tables outside as well for those eager to enjoy the nice weather.

Overall, McGlynn's was fine in our book. We'd have no problem stopping here for another round and perhaps to try a meal here in the future.

My boyfriend and I was looking for somewhere to drink, we walked around kings cross and saw this pub, we sat down and had a good drink, prices were good, it was really cosy and comfortable and everyone was lovely. We will be going back there very soon.

Loved the quiet street with a lovely pub and outside seating. Back street with small cute housing around, very quiet with amazing food. Dedicated dining area, huge portions of food. Cheap drinks but 50p charge to use debit/credit card. Lovely!!

We were staying around the corner from this pub and 6 of us stopped in for a drink before heading back to the hotel. We wandered in about 10:45, didn't see any sign with hours. There was one other person in the bar area. We all ordered drinks and not once did the bar tender say it was close to closing time. Five minutes after ordering the drinks they rang the bell for last call. We figured they must close at 11:30, five minutes later they turned off the lights and rang the bell for closing, so we all had to chug our drinks or leave most unfinished. Very bad form to not tell us when we walked in to order that they would be closing in 10 minutes and we wouldn't have time to finish our drinks. We had been planning on returning to eat here later in the week, but after that experience I would not recommend this bar to anyone! They were just interested in taking our money.

Perhaps not a pub that has to be visited from, say, like the Victoria area, but for us, staying above the pub at the Hotel Wardonia, a very convenient place to have that last half of the night.

They serve food at very reasonable prices and have decent ales on tap and their terrace was very popular when we stayed in late April. That said, not once during our stay at the Wardonia did we hear any noise from the pub.

If you are staying nearby, do pop in for a pint. Even though it is actually more of a local, us tourists are offered as pleasant, cheery service as are offered to the locals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our night out even when in our case "out" meant only about 50 metres, a short crawl back to the Wardonia :D
