This is a nice place for a coffee or burger if you are local in the area. Actually if you are local (I am ) you are lucky to have a pub like Alice at your doorstep as it easily ranks higher than the normal beer stinking, run down pubs you get in most places. However you need to be patient, as this is the place with probably the slowest service ever! Well, at least it takes them ages to get your order and bring you the bill...however they are kind and welcome, just a bit slow!

Service was awful - had to get own menus, waited half an hour for drinks, poor apology when we complained, had to go up to pay the bill. Food tasted fine but shockingly small portions for the quality and price. £16.50 for a small chicken breast, two tiny potatoes and some greens...really?! We withheld the tip and will not be going back or recommending this place for food.

For the quality of food on offer, this is distinctly average. There were ten of us having 'Sunday lunch'. Half ordered a Sunday roast, another, moules a la creme, plus a couple of unremarkable burgers. The leg of lamb was on the raw side of rare, and on the positive side, roast potatoes cooked in duck fat were very good, and there were generous helpings of crisp green vegetables. The carrots, however provided the tell-tale sign that this establishment prizes profit over its customers. FIVE measly carrots arrived to be rationed between the five roast chicken/lamb eaters; We asked for a few more - these arrived - 15 minutes later - and as we discovered later, were ADDED to the bill. When this was questioned, an unbelievably rude waitress said that she was under strict instruction to provide only one carrot per person - this is a disgrace. Her friendly colleague, who had served us was cringing with embarrassment at her colleague's lack of care and complete disinterest. Moreover, the bill for our table was substantial as we all ordered cocktails @ £8.50/£9 each. Why the Alice House management were so mean about a few humble carrots - hardly the most glamorous of rare vegetable, shoes a very short sighted vision. I imagine because the placed was packed, and they've become spoiled by success like many other rip-off London establishments.

Well, a cross between, or even better a pout-pouri of a Bar, a Club and a restaurant.
Security at the door, fine, loud music, fine, the DJ actually was spinning some great tunes, congratulation to her!....continuing, place, fine, service, fine.
The one thing that was average was the food: we went in tired and just wanted a light bite, so we ordered the fish market of the day, and it was just conveniently made with a fluffy butter and very little fish, the chips were also soaked in oil, the glass of wine nothing special and the non alcoholic cocktail was prepared in a rush. The waitress was nice and very warm, but it just didn't make up for the low level food on offer. I am sure that the bar is a much better proposition with the DJ laying some great music.
