“Great Accomodation in London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2013

Thank you for a great week in your lovely comfortable home at Wimbledon. Enjoyed the lovely breakfasts and thank you for taking us to the train on the last day. I really enjoyed the pool after the long flight from Australia. If you book, make sure you are in the large room. The small room is tooooo small! Also remember that breakfasts are not served until 8:30pm on weekends!

Room Tip: Remember breakfast not served till 8:30am on weekends. The small bedroom is very small, luckily we w...

Thank you so much for your review. We are so glad that you enjoyed the free upgrade to our extra large family room. We do serve breakfast from 730-900 in the week and 830-1000 at the weekends as we have found that most of our guests like a later weekend breakfast. We can always leave a cold breakfast for early risers in the guest fridge in the dining room (juice, Milk, fruit) to go with the cereals - if you had mentioned it to us we would happily have done that as many of our other reviewers have written. We are sorry if you thought the small room is too small, many of our guests are very happy to chose it as it offers a much cheaper option.

Fantastic service. Had a family room which was perfect for myself,my sister and my mum. Peter was extremely welcoming and was a fountain of local information from local minicabs to great places to eat. He provided an early breakfast for us so we could join the queue to watch the tennis and sandwiches to take with us. Fantastic cooked breakfast the following morning. The room was spacious, clean and well stocked with drinks, cakes and toiletries. Clean towels and dressing gowns provided if we wanted to use the pool. Would definitely recommend Forest Lodge .

Thank you for a lovely review. It is no trouble to leave a "breakfast to go" in the fridge in the dining room. We know how everyone loves to go and queue and get early tickets. Next year the queues may be even longer!!

Having lived in the area for 3 years ourselves a long time ago for a holiday we were now looking for a nice, quiet and relaxing B&B in Wimbledon. Thanks to the many good reviews on Tripadvisor we luckily found the Lodge and we, parents and 2 teenagers, stayed for 4 nights in mid May in the family room.
We can confirm that everything the other guests wrote is absolutely correct. Perfect hosts, wonderful breakfasts and a quiet and convenient location -thanks to the bus stop nearby, but make sure to have a one day travelcard bought in advance to avoid paying cash-.
Everything is clean and looked after thanks to our hosts' great hospitality.

Unfortunately we couldn't make it to the pool as we spent too much time on sightseeing in London. Next time we'll jump in for sure. Also for our kids it was a memorable stay.

We stayed at Forest Lodge for 3 days, 29-31 June. We stayed in the family room. I was there with my parents and sister.

We really enjoy the relax atmosphere. Peter and Sue are friendly, sincere and generous. We love the cooked breakfast! it is delicious and filling, and last us to late afternoon. The place is clean; - towels n fresh flowers, mineral water, cakes and cookies, tea and coffee in ample supply, as what the others had mentioned. The shower system and water pressue is great. :)

Yes! and the swimming pool :D, Peter is very welcoming in us using the pool. In fact, he is such a sincere host that makes our stay memorable.

The area is safe and quiet and the bus-stop is near. Wimbledon is a tube and train station, which makes it very convenient.

The walk around the area to Wimbledon village is scenic, tranquil and nice.

This place is a "must try"! (especially if you have side trip that needs to go waterloo station)

Thank you very much for your great review. We really appreciate it as it helps potential guests to get a feel for what we offer, personal service in a family home.

We love Wimbledon for all the reasons you gave, excellent links to the centre but lovely and peaceful after a day rushing around.

We do hope that we shall be able to welcome you back again one day if you come to London again.

We found Forest Lodge on tripadvisor and we made the best decision to choose this lovely B&B during our 9-day stay in London. Both Peter and Sue were fantastic hosts : welcoming, helpful and hospitable.

We had a hearty breakfast each morning (cereals, yogurts, fruits (even strawberries), jams, wide selection of tea, coffee and full English breakfast) in a lovely, bright and nicely furnished breakfast room. The tables were nicely set with pressed tablecloths, napkins and lovely china. There were beautiful orchids in the windows. A perfect start to a good day.

On the 4th day of our stay Peter and Sue very generously offered us a bigger room (not as the room we'd booked was so small). Both rooms were clean, bright and very cosy. The beds were comfortable. There were both a shower and a tub in the bathrooms with heated towel racks and all sorts of creams and soaps.

We got delicious cakes&cookies, teas and mineral water in our room.

The location was peaceful and safe. There was a lovely conservation area within walking distance from the house.

Last but not least: do not miss the pool. Great!

If you have time it is worth exploring Wimbledon village with its shops, pubs&restaurants.

Thanks to Sue and Peter our holiday was even more beautiful in London. We would most definitely recommend this B&B to anyone visiting London/Wimbledon.

Dear Sue and Peter, thank you for everything!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a lovely review for us, sorry to hear that TripAdvisor cannot accept reviews in Hungarian yet!

We are so glad you enjoyed the upgrade, with our children doing exams we tried not to take too many bookings over that period so we thought the larger room would be a nice surprise for you.

It was delightful having you to stay and we hope you will come and visit us again if ever visiting England.

Both Sue and Peter are accommodating, sincere, and caring hosts.

This was our family's first visit to London- and their B&B in Wimbledon was the perfect platform for our visit. We were greeted at the airport by a private taxi that Sue had arranged-- which I would highly recommend.

The room was huge. The beds were comfortable. There were both a shower and a tub, a heated towel rack, soft towels, and an array of soaps and creams. There were fresh flowers and every day our room was made fresh and tidy for us.

There were teas and lovely cakes in our room. The fridge was stocked with waters. And for our daughter: there were special Gluten Free treats.

It was a short walk to the bus- and a quick ride to the train/tube station. Getting around was easy--and Peter was helpful with maps and suggestions. We went into London everyday - although we would have liked to have the time to explore Wimbledon a bit more, too. (Maybe on our next visit...)

The breakfast was amazing. I'd go back there just for the food!! The tables were set with pressed tablecloths & napkins, lovely china, and fresh flowers. There were fresh fruits, cereals (and gluten free cereals) yogurts, and fresh juices. Each day Peter took our order. He brought out coffee or tea and he cooked the best eggs (any style) and toast (including Gluten Free breads) and beans and tomatoes and Salmon!!

Every day we were relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated -- thanks to our hosts.

Our family appreciated the extra efforts that Sue and Peter made. They made us feel special and welcomed and well cared for.

We would highly recommend Forest Lodge Bed and Breakfast to our best friends!!

Thank you so much for leaving us such a lovely review, we are so grateful when people take the time and trouble to write them.

It is lovely having people to stay and our philosophy is to try and provide the things that we like when we are staying away and to not do the things we hate! So fresh flowers are a must.

It was no problem at all to try and cater for the gluten free diet as you let us know in good time. We are lucky that we have found some good sources of gluten free products.

We added the little cakes for the Olympics and as people seemed to like them we just keep them on, same with the smoked salmon option at breakfast. We used to do it just for Wimbledon fortnight and now we offer it all the time.

So glad that you enjoyed the breakfasts, we try to offer a wide range to suit everyone and it is lovely when it is appreciated.

Hopefully we will be able to welcome you back again one day.

i was only in london for a moment as a stopover from my africa trip, and forest lodge was a perfect place to get a quick feel for the city. neighborhood was safe and good for walking off the long flight i had beforehand. i'm not a big fan of british cuisine but since breakfasts are the speciality (i suppose), forest lodge did its heritage proud. very nice. the property really has the feel of england so i got my anglophile fill.
