Booked this hotel through SuperBreaks. which worked out over £500 for four people sharing a room, we were told our room would have 3 beds and a fold out bed settee, after waiting almost half an hour to get checked in, we went to our room, coming out of the lift we thought we were in the wrong part of the hotel, everything looked shabby, the door frames were splintered, there was bare patches of plaster on the walls, the carpet was stained and sticky, when we reached our room, it was still in the process of being "cleaned" by one man who was half heartedly waving a dry cloth around, with no sign of any cleaning products, we noticed the room had only three beds, one double two singles, so I went to reception to complain that we had booked a room with four separate beds, to be told by receptionist that a double and two singles was adequate for 2 adults and 2 children, I explained that the other adult was in fact my teenage son and we did not wish to share a bed! We were then given keys to another room, at the other side of the hotel, by this stage tired an fed up, to discover an equally unpleasant room, this time with 3 single beds, the bathroom was dirty with a small scrap of toilet roll on the holder, and no soap or toiletries, a man then arrived and proceeded to assemble a very old, creaky camp bed which took up any floor space between the beds. Close to tears, I arrived back at reception to ask if they could please supply the room I had booked, explaining that this was a Christmas surprise trip for myself and my children, and we were really gutted at the state of the rooms, I was told nothing could be done, I asked for a refund on the money I had paid for the childrens breakfast on arrival, they refused to do this. I then arranged through Superbreaks to be moved to the nearby Holiday Inn, and thankfully had a lovely weekend!

If you want to spend your money on shopping or fine dining instead of on a hotel room where you just spend a couple of hours sleeping, this is the choice for you, The location is great you can easily walk to almost Everything London has to offer and if you prefer bus or underground you'll find them just around the corner.

At the hotel the rooms are cleaned everyday, and the service at the reception is perfect. There are two large breakfast areas where you alwaýs find a table.

Of xourse this is not a luxury hotel, but it is a very good alternative in the middle class range

The location is the only good thing about this hotel. Staff (reception and restaurant) are rude. I got shouted at this morning twice at breakfast! Clean and tidy. We couldn't control the heating in our room and it was so warm that we had to sleep with the window open! Breakfast is an absolute joke: orange juice is diluted with water to save money and so it tastes vile. No possibility to do toast (they toast the bread themselves and let them under some lamps), not much choice and you have to pay for breakfast so personally I didn't bother with breakfast. No free Wi-Fi in the room but you have to go in the lounge (on the floor as there aren't any seats and lots of kids on school trips). Don't book a room there!

We arrived at this hotel around 13:15 and were told at the reception desk that check-in time was 14:00 so we'd have to wait until then.
In the meantime a huge crowd of travel-tired tourists had gathered for checking in and were watched mockingly by the inactive staff of the reception desk.
When the check-in finally started each guest had to fill out a form which further extended the delay. The rooms we were assigned were very small, basic and noisy but clean.

At breakfast we again were confronted with a huge waiting crowd and were forwarded to another wing of the hotel where we queued up in another row and couldn't find a vacant table.
When we finally found a spot the hotel's definition of continental breakfast proved to be their own intrepetation: buns resembled floppy tennis balls, jelly seemed to come from a chemical plant.
All in all: don't spoil your London trip by bookin this hotel!

Stayed here a few years ago, and was not overly impressed, but, the location was very convenient, about a block away from the Russel Square subway station. Basic, non descript rooms, but clean and tidy.
