Fantastic, we had to experience a genuine English pub and the Albert was our choice.
It was great to mingle with the locals as the soccer was shown on the tele. You had to pick out your food from a menu and go up to the bar to place and pay for it.
The decor was typical English and the food and service exceptional, this is a must on your list

As a tourist to London, I thought this was a good English pub. Had a pint with tasty fish and chips - portions were large. Staff was helpful and friendly - more than other pubs that merely tolerated tourists. Had a great atmosphere and comfortable seating. Some say that this is a "tourist" pub, but I was a tourist and thoroughly enjoyed my visit there. Casual, good food and not expensive.

Good pub food - a pie and a burger, free wifi, friendly service. The tables were small, and the plates large. They were good enough to let us sit & nurse a beer for quite a spell after the plates were cleared.

Great old English pub, warm atmosphere with a very beautiful interior. Tasty fish&chips and a good place to grab a pint.

Got to know about the historical background of this pub during the hop bus tour of London that this pub was visited by Monarchs during elections and all that stuff and though I should make a visit

We went one evening and the place was crowded but we managed to get a place which just got vacated . For close to 30 minutes no one came to clear the table but I could see the lady chatting with other customers and yet not clear our table . Meanwhile I ordered our drinks and got them to the table

The shocking part was that the menu was exactly the same , what we had 2 days ago at a pub (Silver Cross) near Trafalgar . On asking the stewardess said that this was one of the many restaurants owned by the "Taylor & Walker" group in the area and they all had the same menu . I think this is one of the most silliest concept for a pub to have exactly the same menu when the names and locations are different and when it is not a chain under the same name .

Drinks and beer was the standard you get at every pub so nothing to mention there .

Regards food , we ordered starter platter , baguette sandwich , burger and churro for dessert . The platter was good , so was the burger and churros . The baguette s'which was lousy

If I get an option of a better pub ( I am sure there are ) I would give this one a miss
