“A great cappuccino!”

Best cappuccino I've drunk in London. The pastries are also very good. We've come back to L'Etoile again and again for a good, quiet breakfast, served by nice people.

“Made for a perfect cup of coffee and breakfast snack each morning.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2011

My wife and I spent 8 nights at the Hyde Park Hotel, located just a block past this corner on Garaway Road. Each morning, we began the journey around town, looking for a good place to pick up a reasonably priced breakfast before beginning our "touristing". Anyhow, as anyone that has vacationed in London knows, food can get expensive very quickly. Luckily, we stopped in to L'Etoile, it being conveniently located a block from our hotel.

Well, I'm going to try to get the details right on this one. According to the proprietor, a very kind older lady that was in shop every morning when we stopped by, the baked goods are all Portugeuse themed and, according to us, all rather delicious. Lots of lamb and spinach based, savoury baked croissants, etc. Also plenty of sweets. Good filling, yet light, options.

Now, you might also know that finding a good "cup of coffee" is also rather tough. If you've ever ordered filter coffee, you've been disappointed in how unlike your standard cup-a-joe it actually is. Go for the Americano in here and add some cream to cut it a bit.

Anyhow, great privately owned cafe' with good prices. Perfect place to grab a filling breakfast without breaking the bank in the city.
