“Brilliant value for substantial meal in heart of london!”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

The food was excellent, we had the piri, piri chicken with salad and side of chips. This came with endless soft drinks of choice! For £20 (for two) we ate well and both enjoyed our meal! Well done to the Nandos chain for holding prices to a reasonable level!

“I just don't get it?!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014 via mobile

Why is this place a big deal? I was trying to kill a couple of hours and got tempted in by a vague curiosity of why so many people flock excitedly to this place to chow down on the limited menu of pieces of grilled chicken slathered in varying degrees of spicy sauces. What is all the fuss about?

Decor and music actually make for a pretty cosy initial impact and if you resign yourself to the fact that you'll be eating either some form of dry chicken or one of a handful of veggie alternatives, the menu sounds fairly appealing for a bit of a dirty, greasy treat.

We ordered a double hot peri-peri burger, plain butterfly chicken, fries, corn and coleslaw. All sounds okay doesn't it? Imagine the most lacklustre execution of both dishes and you're getting warm (pun intended). The burger came served on an impossibly dry bread roll, the two chicken breast pieces adorned by a single leaf of lettuce and a tomato slice. The butterfly chicken looked a little dry, the chips weren't crispy, were also dry and had a taste not unlike oven chips which is fine if you're at home in a rush on a Tuesday evening but if you're lusting after a deep fried chip you'll be disappointed. The corn was nicely chargrilled but honestly that is impossible to get wrong. It was barely warm enough to melt the solitary portion of butter it came equipped with. Coleslaw was akin to absolute entry-level supermarket stuff. Not at all creamy or luxurious.

I wasn't expecting it to be brilliant, but this failed to even meet my low expectations. If you're after this kind of stuff, you may as well just head for a Harvester and save a few quid. This place has the potential to be pretty acceptable if the food is to be anything like it promises to be.... but it isn't, so I won't be back.

“Yummy chicken”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Enjoyed the Nando's nearest to Piccadilly Circus. Short wait but lovely hostess kept us informed for when table was available. Very friendly service and chicken (medium spice) was very good and reasonably priced. Also enjoyed the coleslaw and rice.

We liked this chain of restaurants to go back more than once. Enjoyed their spicy roasted chicken and selection of sauces.
