“Huge new screens!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

I recently went to a movie here and was amazed by their ginormous new screens! There are two new screens, IMAX and another I cannot remember the name of, but the screens are massive! Definitely worth the visit if you're planning on seeing a movie, especially because the price, at around £10, is much cheaper than its neighbouring cinemas... which usually run about £14... with much smaller and older screens.

“Small theater”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014 via mobile

The theater our movie was in was small, only about 30 seats. Was surprised to be assigned seats when we bought our tickets. Overall a good viewing experience.

“Waste of money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

We tried the IMPACT (balcony) of Empire Leicester Square and a bit of disappointment.

Seats - not as comfortable as I expected. The spacing is not great. When you are seating, no one can really pass through in front of you and even if your standing so someone can pass through , it's difficult and annoying.

Screen - too near to your face. The distance wasn't really great.

The whole IMPACT screen is so tiny that's leads to unenjoyable experience.

If you're going to the balcony - there's no choice of using a lift or escalators. You need to use the stairs so make sure you're ok with it.

“Cute movie theater...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

I'm sure they had a bigger theatre than the one playing the movie we saw, but the entire movie theatre we were in consisted of like 6 rows in a small room with the smallest movie screen I've ever seen. The staff was great and the theatre was very clean. They have you pick a seat on their seating chart. They told me that their larger theatre which had IMAX (not playing the movie we wanted) held over 500 or more seats. It was an experience.

“IMAX screen at Empire Leicester Square”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

We saw Edge of tomorrow in 3D on the new IMAX screen and it was a great experience. The size of the screen is HUGE which really immerses you in the movie. The sound system is the best I have ever heard! We sat pretty centrally (H35) and some of the effects really sound like their in the cinema. The 3D intro just before the movie starts makes you want to dodge the flying graphics. At £18 each it's a lot to watch a movie but this is an experience like a theme park ride!
