“Terrible”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2013

I stayed in this room for one single day and had the worst experience ever. Very very small room with no ventilation at all. The room door was terrible and making annoying sound when open and close. I could hear people walking on top in their room. And fire alram sounded twice 4am and 6am which spoiled my sleep. Basically this cannot be called a hotel. Its like my house back store room. After 4am the A/C didnt work. No ventilation no A/C (this room was in basement) imagine!!! No comments about the food because its one of the worst food I have ever had in london. We planned to stay 2 days but checked out in the first day.
But location is good easy access to tube station.

It is a joke to call this place a Hotel. Our room was so small that only one person could stand up while the other lay on the bed. Access to our room was via the landing in the fire stairs. The shower was so small that you could not bend to wash yourself. The shower screen door was broken, the light and fan in the bathroom didn't work. Don't even think about things like air con or a hair dryer. The breakfast was terrible and served in an unventilated room in the cellar. There is no guest lounge, which means people have to hang out on the footpath. The whole place is very run down and badly maintained.
I have stayed in mining camps that were much nicer than this place.

There are plenty of nice little hotels in the nearby area, this one is a dive.

This hotel is charging a hotel price but the environment and services provided are similar to a hostel. Basically, you are just paying for privacy. The building is old, stair cases will have cracking sound when you walk on it, no wifi or hair dryer available for use, the breakfast provided are just as simple as what you normally get in a backpacker hostel. There are a lot more hotels that look nicer within the same row as it is located, probably charging the same price yet provides a better place to stay in. The location is good, as it is newr Paddington station and there are reestaurants and shops nearby which open till late night.

Thank you for your feedbak regarding your stay with us. It is regretful to hear you experienced discomfort throughout your stay and I would like to assure you this is not the intention of the management. Our ethic and beliefs is value for money and at the time of your stay was peak season. Our prices are always kept fair and competitive in comparison to hotels of the same standard in this are. We have taken your feedback on board and will be undergoing a major refurbishment project. Our breakfast consists of Hot and cold berverages, a choice of cereals, 2 types of bread and bread rolls, croissants, cheese, eggs and ham, and sausages and baked beans. We also offer fresh fruit. We find this is usually enough to cater for most tastes, but we do also offer our guests an upgrade to their breakfast in case this is not enough. We are still happy to take any suggestions on board. Thank you for taking the time to write a rewiew and please be assured we are always evolving to meet our guests needs.

Great location - only a 60 second walk to Paddington tube station.
Room was tiny and very ordinary.
Banister of the staircase to the first floor moved when hand places on it.
Staff not overly professional and often seemed disinterested.
Daily breakfast very ordinary indeed and was in the basement.
Great place to stay in terms of location and if you don't plan on spending much time in the hotel.

Ive been backpacking for 3 years now and have stayed in all sorts of place all around the world, and this is not a place I would call a 'hotel'.
I stayed here with my Mother for 2 nights and we seriously would have been better off in a hostel.
The room was tiny, lighting was terrible, the room was seriously hot and stuff - surprising for London. Their was an aircon which was very difficult to use and seemed to switch itself off anyway.
The beds were so narrow and uncomfortable with only one pillow.
The bathroom would have been fine if there wasn't previous guests pubic hair on show in the shower and bathroom floor.
We were on the second floor so heard all the creeks of every step anyone made all around us, as well as the walls would shake if someone shut their door.
The only good things about the 'hotel' was:
Breakfast was actually pretty good. Fresh fruit, eggs, baked beans, toast, jams, crossiants..
As well as the location was quite central and easy to get around.
I would definitely opt for a different place to stay, it was very uncomfortable. You would be better off staying in a private room that hostels offer, or google air BnB for private beautiful places to stay.

Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. Our beliefs and ethics is value for money and we make sure we are always fairly and competitivly priced in comparison with similar properties in the area. Please note you had stayed with us during a very busy season with special events in the area and many other hotels had over inflated their prices when we had decided to keep our prices fair. All hotels along this street are Grade II Victorian townhouses which are timber structured and we are not allowed to change the structure as they are listed buildings. We do find that timber does tend to creak especially in the summer and do advise our other guests if they are being too noisy. Our rooms are cleaned to high standards and we deep clean all rooms regularly. During high turnover of rooms we have extended the hours of the housekkeping team to ensure they are thorough.
I am pleased you enjoyed the breakfast and we are always happy to take on board any suggestions to improve our sevices. We will take all your comments on board and are always looking for ways to improve.

The room was just average for this category of hotel.
The bed are not comfortable at all.
Breakfast!,..?.if you like cheap breads from Aldi so go head not worth it to stay in this hotel .
Service is really basic and the old man in a reception who was the owner I think looks so miserable ,I asked him for advise and he harldly answer back .
Honestly ,you ve got a couple of nice hotel around andi will think twice if I was you before booking this one.
