“Uncomfortable bed”
Reviewed 15 January 2014

I've recently stayed at this hotel for a couple of days. The hotel, built in the style of the buildings around, is located in a quiet neighbourhood, about 10 minutes walking from Victoria Station. Our room on the 5th floor (lift to the 4th floor, then 20 steps up) was well equipped with everything one needs, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The window of the room was very small though. Friendly and helpful concierge services. Overall the hotel was ok for us, but two drawbacks should be mentioned:
1. Uncomfortable bed: I woke up many times due to the limited sleeping comfort, and felt my bones when getting up in the morning because the mattress did not support the body very well. I didn't feel rested.
2. Expensive Wifi at GBP 10 per 24 hours.

stayed here in London on business and I can say that I would never stay again. the superior room for which I was given, had a pull down bed from the wall, which was extremely uncomfortable. also, I had a room next to the bar, which meant thy I could here people conversations
in the bar all night and also people think it's funny to bang on your door.

Stayed here on our last 3 days in the UK before heading home. Not bad price wise for the room, however, our bed was one that folds up into a recess in the wall.
that was not the issue, but you lost the pillows in the night down the huge gap at the head of the bed! Also being tall, the bed was ridiculously low, so low I had to roll out on my knees and then stand! However, the staff were exceptional, friendly, efficient and went above and beyond their duty. Nothing was too much trouble. They were truly an asset to the hotel.

For my wife's 70th birthday our daughter booked the Grange Rochester Hotel for a night in London. It is a good value for money hotel and it is a great location for sightseeing, the only downside is you have to find a car park which as we all know is not cheap in the capital.

Stayed here on a corporate rate of £125 per night and in the week before Christmas. Was given a beautiful room overlooking school playing fields and with a long balcony - dreadful weather so did not use this on this occasion. We'll equipped and with a lounge area to sit and read, this is probably the best hotel I have stayed in on business recently. My only gripe being that wifi not included and as I was working away, was peeved at the £10 extra cost. Lovely breakfast in the small but cosy restaurant. Great staff, friendly and helpful. This hotel is so close to Victoria, Westminster etc and is an oasis of peace and calm in a busy city.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the playing field and not Rochester Row.suspect it is quieter. Also, some goo...

This is a very nice quite small hotel with old world charm that for my stay was very quiet. It is clean and well kept and the receptionists and reporters (bellhop) were neatly groomed, professional, polite and accommodating. Once you have checked in there is a glass sided lift (elevator) to take you swiftly into the floor is on which your room is located.

Now I cannot make a comment on other rooms but mine was tiny though just about sufficient for my needs. I certainly would not consider this such a bad thing for I am after all staying in a very nice hotel in the center of Victoria SW1 and ended the room rate was better than you can find it at any comparable hotel in the area. There are cheaper hotels but I'm sure your imagination can get to grips with all that suggests. If you book a single bed that is exactly what you will get. No more no less.

The rooms are comfortable and somehow they seem to achieve with some degree of adaptability a room that contains everything that you need for your stay. Remember it is quite likely that you will spend most of your day in London and really only need somewhere clean up, relax and sleep. There is a flatscreen TV (not HD) and for once more than enough tea and coffee to satisfy even the hardiest of hot beverage drinkers. The bathroom is again quite tiny though enough room to shower shave and use the toilet. I would suggest however if you are in the process of doing any one of these labors do not attempt to “swing a cat” at the same time.

For those of you who are still reading there is one thing of some note. There is a dearth of electrical outlets. So for that reason I would suggest that if you can bring a way of extending one outlet in too many that would not be such a bad idea.
The area is very interesting with lots of shops and restaurants. If you need something it is probably close at hand.
A local "lived in" community area. A small park (Vincent Square) a few hundred yards away.

All in all nice comfortable hotel, with restaurant and bar attached, which should serve as a great home base to explore London. For the price it is extremely good value. I was just your book as far in advance as possible to get the best price.

Room Tip: Excellent base to explore London !~!

Stayed here for Friday and Saturday, quick check in, room was lovely, slightly small but we only paid £80 a night so was fine. Location was good only 10min walk to Victoria station so very handy.
Room was cleaned to a high standard and reception very helpful.
I have stayed in other Grange hotels and would recommend staying here and would stay here again myself.

Room Tip: Get a room over looking the park
