“Convenient and good value”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

The location is great, a short walk from 3 different underground stations but also walking distance from the Natural History museum and other attractions. There are also a lot of eating options and grocery options nearby. The staff is helpful for giving directions and assistance.

Booked for 4 nights in May 2014. We booked here because we wanted the option of making our own breakfasts and lunches. The kitchenette met our minimum requirements, being supplied with cooking equipment and utensils. The room is compact, but we had good weather while we were visiting and were not spending a lot of time in the room. It was big enough for 2 people, our luggage and all the furniture to be comfortably laid out. It is an older building (as would be expected), and feels a little worn down, although it is clean. Be prepared for all the stairs if your room is on a higher floor.

Nice apartments. Had 2 rooms at the end of April 14...triple room had a small 1.2 x 1.2 bathroom, but was the only negative. The bathroom in the double exe room was great though.
Place was central in walking distance to the tube station and round the corner from the main Street with pub, KFC, Starbucks and a small but open till late supermarket.
Next time in London will look this place up again!!

Was at a conference at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel which is very close by. The Millennium wanted something like £200 per night and I got Astons for £160 for two night off Hotels.com.

Location is great, a short walk from Gloucester Road tube station with lots of shops and cafes around the tube.

There is no real reception, just an office at the back which is open 8:00am - 9:00pm. No idea if you can check-in after 9:00pm. My room was almost at the top of the building on about 5th floor. Stairs only.

Room was tiny. I reckon it was about 9ft x 7ft in total. Single bed along one wall. pop-up desk, cleverly done caravan style kitchenette behind a set of cupboard doors and a tiny shower/toilet/basin room which appeared to be a single bonded plastic/fibreglass unit. Again reminded me of a caravan.Despite the cleverness I found i had to boil the kettle on the floor as that was the only working plug which the lead stretched to. The shower experience was better than anticipated!

As it was hot I had the window open which overlooked the gardens to the rear. It was quite noisy with people talking loudly until gone midnight. Then, about 5:00am, I was woken to the sound of aircraft.

Wifi was adequate. Fairly slow but fine for browsing and email. £12 for the two days.

So, it was a bed, clean and adequate. Nothing more nothing less.

Booked an executive studio. It was tiny, compared to US standards, 2 burner stove top, microwave, frig, hot water pot. They said no maid service but the trash was emptied everyday, fresh towels every other day, and if I left any dishes in the sink, they were also done. The location was fantastic. Quiet street, 2 blocks to the tube, restaurants and a grocery, and Starbucks.

My husband our two daughters and myself have just returned from two nights at Astons. Positives. Very friendly and helpful staff and it's in a good location just 5 mins walk to the tube. Negatives. The room was very small we had three beds and a pull out bed and once this was being used we could not move around the room. The room could have been cleaner, dust in the ceiling fan and marks where someone had dropped the iron on the carpet! All in all it's ok but we would go for somewhere bigger on out next visit to London.

Great location - 5 minutes to the Tube and to a big Waitrose market.
15 minute walk to the Natural History Museum, V&A and Science Museum
Quiet, comfortable beds, OK mini cooking area with two burners, a microwave, a small refrigerator, toaster and electric kettle. Pretty well fitted out but we had to ask for an ice cube tray, a cutting board. Nice size bath towels.

VERY small room and a tinier bathroom. Absolutely no drawers for clothing storage - one shelf and some hanging space with plenty of hangers. No space in the bathroom for personal objects.
NO elevator - and big cost for WiFi.

But, we got used to it. I suppose for London, it was an OK deal. But not for the Best Western/Hampton traveler. Might even be a squeeze for a Red Roof Inn one.

Spent 3 nights here, loved the location! The hotel was nice and clean, room was just big enough. Small kitchen unit in the room, so you can easy save some money by making breakfast yourself. The staff were very helpful, if you need anything, they will fix it. We will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: No elevators/lifts, so if you have a heavy suitcase, ask for a room on the ground floor.
