“Weekend at the Holiday Inn”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

i have jsut come back from a weekend in London and stayed at the holiday inn. The hotel is very central and easy to get to the underground. I found staff at the reception desk hard to understand and them under us plane English i was very tired and found out that our room had been booked out to smeone else who was on our party but also they had booked another room to her as well. The lift was out of action and others were running very slow. Breakfast was astonishing expensive we had a charge of £18.90 that was far too expensive and for this reason we will not be returning to this holiday inn i felt a bit ripped off and told the staff on leaving no discount was offered. look out for (special) discounts before you go into the restaurant they did say they told us about them but we wernt for sure or we would have used them.

Room Tip: check if the lifts are working if you have problems with stairs

I booked the hotel more than 1 month ago to enjoy their discount.
It is about 2-3 minutes walk to Great Portland underground station (2 lines reaching this station: Metropolitan and Hammersmith connecting to Paddington station where Heathrow express reaches).
One block away from the hotel, there is a Italian restaurant, sort of family business. Huge volume of food at reasonable price. Good taste. The owner is very funny, joking at himself or teasing the client. Feel at home there.
Breakfast in Holiday Inn regent park is no different from the breakfast in Kingsway Hall hotel where I stayed for 3 nights at double price. It is value for bucks.
Room is of Holiday Inn standard, comfortable bed. Toilet is tiny but tidy. Very clean towel.
Wifi is 5 pounds per hour or 10 pounds for 4 hours. More than expensive.
The area is quiet, easy to fell sleep.
I love their service team. Patient, always answer questions with smile and always give satisfying answer.

Room Tip: Their rooms are quite standard. Don't need to bother.

Stayed here for two days recently on business.

The hotel is within 15-20 minutes walk from Euston so is well situated. Plenty to do during the evening without having to venture too far.

Had a lovely meal on my first night, with excellent service from a fantastic Italian (I think) supervisor. This lade really was excellent and a credit to the hotel - I’m only sorry I didn’t get her name so I can mention her personally.

Breakfast was fine, plenty go choice, well cooked.

Room was small but bed was wonderfully comfortable, had a great two nights sleep.

Cant get over the advertised price on reception £ 350.00!!

what annoys me the most is the charge for wi-fi, in this day and age surely wi-fi should be free to hotel guests? Holiday Inn why is it not free!!!!???

Our second stay at this hotel. We primarily choose it for its location and price. Friendly staff. Small room but functional. Except shower that was completely lousy. Told reception when we checked out and where offered free breakfast our next stay. Nice way to apologize. Will come back again.

My husband & I stayed at the Regent's Park Holiday Inn for my Birthday during the 2nd May Bank Holiday and on arrival, we were upgraded to an Executive room, on the 6th floor, along with a lovely gift of chocolate brownies and a card. Tastefully modern decorated room, with neutral shades and great facilities, a very comfortable room, overlooking a quiet street, so a good nights sleep was guaranteed. The only disappointing point, the shower, well it was more like a trickle, so it was a challenge to wash your hair, as the pressure was non-existent to was off shampoo. But as we were only there 4 days didn't let it effect our stay.
The hotel is in a very central location, with excellent bars and restaurants nearby if you don't want the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. We walked to Regent's Park from the hotel, up to Primrose Hill and to Camden; also to Marlyebone one day, which is nice and handy. We also walked to Oxford Street and Regent Street from hotel.
The breakfast at the hotel was fresh and replenished and the waiter was so friendly, chatty and genuinely took an interest in us. The bar was excellent too and a handy addition if you wanted a drink before hitting the highlife!
On check-out, when we mentioned the shower pressure, lack of, the receptionist deducted some costs from our mini bar bill and also took off couple of the breakfasts - what a great touch and how customer service should be - well done! We will definitely be back if we come down to London again.

The location of the hotel is good with easy access to Euston and the west end of london. The hotel was quiet and very clean but the rooms were tiny. I was given a twin bedded room and at 5"10' the bed felt tiny. The rooms were also very hot as the air on seemed to go off automatically in the night. That said it was very clean and the staff were incredibly helpful and polite.

Dear Swaff

Thank you for your review on our hotel, we are glad you enjoyed our location, we hear this a lot from our guests, which is great because location is so important. Our compact hotel rooms are a reflection of our central London location, we do make sure they are clean and offer all the amenities you require for a cosy nights sleep. The air conditioning should not have automatically switched off, so thank you for bringing this to our attention so we can resolve it immediately, and we apologise sincerely.

We hope to welcome you back in the future.

Kind Regards,

Miriam, GMs Office.
