“Polite Staff and Pleasant Location”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

I stayed here for four nights over the Easter weekend and had no complaints. The staff were friendly and polite, the full English breakfast excellent and the room clean. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to others as being good value in this day and age.

The hotel is close to Finchley Road Underground Station, the O2 Centre and the North London Line station.

This is an older hotel (feels like early 70s rooms) located on a small residential street just off one of the main streets of Hampstead. The nearest tub station is a 5 - 10 minute walk. From there you can get to Central London in 20 - 30 minutes.

The breakfasts are full with good service. The people at the front desk were very helpful in answering our questions, and maid service was especially good in cleaning our room.

Bottom line: location is a bit far from Central London, rooms are old but prices are fair and service very good indeed.

This hotel is in a quiet street, but with excellent connections to city center. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast is for every taste. Also 5 min. walk from the O2 center with a wide range of reataurants and shops.

Room Tip: Stayed there twice in different rooms, both very good

A modernish box, designed for packing them in. The rooms are not quite big enough and the bathrooms follow suit. The design is bland to the point of boring. Everything seems to be clean and well maintained. If you just want a stopover in this part of London, it serves perfectly well. The staff, many of whom speak good English, are pleasant and helpful. There is not a restaurant for lunch or dinner and not a very good selection of places within walking distance. The breakfast room is pleasant and the breakfast buffet is not bad. The price is pretty good for this sort of thing in London.

This hotel was excellent..We have been to London on many occasions, and stayed at more expensive ones in the west end..This hotel is comparable with any of them..The staff were friendly and courteous especially Ausra on reception..Tubes were close by..Buffet breakfast was great..Highly recommend.

We recently stayed for three nights at this property and were quite pleased with it. The only real complaint we had was that it was very hard to find, and the directions we received with our booking were not helpful at all. But once we finally got there, everything else was great. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Our room, while not luxurious, was clean and comfortable and compared quite favorably with other properties we have stayed at in London in the past. When we booked through the website, we were only given a choice of 2 single beds and a rollaway for three people, but we were put in a room that actually had 3 single beds which made it much more comfortable for our third person. We thought the breakfast was great, plentiful and good variety; they will even cook fried, poached or boiled eggs for you if you don't like their scrambled ones. The wifi worked quickly and well. We could easily take the nearby subway or bus and be in central London in no time at all. The parking lot was small, but adequate. All in all, we had a great stay and will likely return there in the future and will readily recommend this location to others.

After reading some of the reviews here, I was a bit apprehensive prior to my arrival. I needed a place to stay for 4 nights on short notice, and finding a reaonably priced hotel in London in mid July is not an easy task. I was pleasantly surprised.
I've stayed at about a dozen or so hotels in London during the past 10 years. The room here was probably in the mid-size of rooms I've had in London. Actually, it was much bigger than a room I had seen recently at a Quality Hotel in Manhattan.
The staff was competent and pleasant. They're not going to be your best friends, but I found them to be very professional. I certainly did not experience any of the surliness mentioned by a prior reviewer.
The hotel was clean, as was the room. No problems there.
Wifi was very strong and I had no issues. Well, actually, I couldn't connect in the basement during breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, I thought it was fine. Yes, they had the same choices every day (a prior reviewer had complained about this), but so does my local diner. I expect a reasonable palatable breakfast, not the Four Seasons. The staff was willing to make fried eggs each morning (I hate buffet scrambled eggs), so no complaints.
I had never stayed at a hotel in Underground Zone 2, so i was a bit concerned about the distance. However, I didn't really notice any significant travel time on the Underground and the hotel was less than 5 minute walk from the station.
A number of reasonably good restaurants on Finchley Road between the Station and the hotel. And a laundromat around the corner.
I'd stay there again.
