A very satisfying stay. Standing out were the friendliness of the staff and the excellent location. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. On the down side, the rooms were somewhat cramped (not unusual in this part of London) and the reception area and public spaces were also quite small and poky. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I were delighted with our stay at the St. James Club and Hotel. We loved the quiet location tucked away from the busy streets, but it was close enough to walk to attractions, like Buckingham Palace and St.James Park. The staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. Everyone was wonderful, attentive, courteous and welcoming. When we came in on a uncharacteristically warm day, the bellman met us with iced tea. The food was superb, and again, so was the service, in the Bistro and Restaurant. We do not travel to London from the US often, but we will definitely want to stay at the St. James again, will recommend it to others and have told our niece, who is also our travel agent, that we highly recommend the hotel to her other clients. Thank you, St. James Club and Hotel. You made our stay in London memorable.

Room Tip: We loved our room on the lower level next to the private entrance. Quiet and secluded.

I did not stay here but instead visited for Afternoon tea. It is one of the few hotels in London to offer a gluten-free version of a traditional high tea alongside the regular options. It was a very elegant affair. The hotel is small boutique in style. We were given a private area for our group as it was a birthday celebration. The setting was very relaxed with two large sofas and it felt far more special, intimate and more homely than some of the tea rooms I've seen at other establishments.
Perfect for a group of friends to catch up.
The food was exquisite. Of course, I can only speak for the gluten-free version but I had good reports too from the others in my group. For me the best bit was the gluten-free scones, some plain and some with sultanas served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
The cakes were all so beautiful. Miniature delights! A good mix of chocolate and fruit treats, some that were also given to those without special diets. My particular favourites were a lemon sponge with lemon icing, a tiny chocolate chip cupcake with chocolate frosting. The birthday girl also got a plate of truffles with 'Happy Birthday' written on the plate.
There was also a tea menu with a full selection of teas to choose from.
An excellent afternoon!

Our 4th stay here at the STJ Club. We enjoyed a beautiful Suite with a superb Terrace. This boutique hotel is wonderful with superb rooms and suite (however, some of them may be very small) and excellent service. The bar is very nice and both restaurants are very good. The Park Place (1 star Michelin) is good but a bit expensive for the food they serve, and The Bistrot give very good value for money.
Breakfast is wonderful with a nice buffet with excellent products and cooked breakfast is superb.
The location is perfect : close to Green Park with a private access and very close to Jermyn Street for shpping addicts.
Really the best boutique hotel in London.

Room Tip: The Suites are perfect (also expensive)

Admittedly I had an upgrade to the luxury suite it was a great start - but added to this, the luxury of the decor was matched by excellent service given by the staff.

Would highly recommend this hotel.
