It was my hubbie first time in London and the hotel was the perfect choice. We had the best time ever. The staff was extremely nice to us and we had an up-grade for a suite. So we could experience all the elegance this boutique hotel has to offer. All the staff were very attentive to us.The bathroom in black marble had great amenities, comfortable bed full of pillows and a specious living room with complimentary fresh fruits and water. The breakfast has a variety of breads and jams plus prosciuttos and cheeses. The "runners" exit to the park has a station with apples and water, such a delicate detail. We didn't had the extra time for the British Tea Time at hotel but we'll definitely do it next time. The hotel is walking distance from St. James Palace, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly and all shops on Old and new bond Street. Want to comeback soon!

This is an excellent, small hotel in a great location just off of Piccadilly. The staff were extremely helpful in getting us to the right place. The doorman actually walked us out to St James Street to make sure we knew how to get to a location. The bar is very nice. The breakfast is very good and varied. The staff also arranged for a van to take 3 couples to Heathrow at a cost less than most cab rides. The rooms are quite small but very well appointed with a good bed and a nice bathroom. The only complaint we had is we could not get the A/C to work the last night and were quite warm in our room. I suspect it was our fault and not the fault of the hotel.

Have utilized the St James Club many times over 30 plus years through many refurbishments and modernizations. First discovered it as a reciprocal club of my home club in the States. A short walk to tourist, theater and various shopping districts. An excellent leisure or business hotel. Stayed in a two room suite with a pleasant view. Very quiet because it is located on a dead end street. Working a/c and commodious bath rooms. Funky shower arrangement. Requires a bit of contortion. Itty bitty dining room with excellent food. Tight for a 6'4" person. Excellent breakfast spread. Staff very attentive.

Room Tip: You should request a street facing functioning window. Good way to get light and air. Avoid rooms next to grand staircase. A little hard to find. Be prepare to direct your cabby.

We felt pampered and cared for by each and every person working at this elegant, boutique hotel. Our superior room was very inviting, well furnished with an extremely comfortable bed, the extra touches made the stylish bathroom a pleasant, relaxing room.
Delicious Continental breakfasts were included. The variety of mouth watering, homemade jams and breads were a treat. We were able to enjoy breakfast in this relaxing, cosy restaurant at a very leisurely pace. I loved the way the lemon accompaniment for the smoked salmon was wrapped.
All the staff at reception were very attentive to our needs and made us feel so welcome. They were always so cheerful and when it looked like rain, we were offered an umbrella as we left the hotel.
The hotel has easy access to green park and is hence a stroll from Buckingham palace. The theatres are within easy walking distance too, as is Harrods. Will definitely stay here again

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel recently. The hotel is in an excellent location. The quality of the furniture and fittings in the rooms and bathrooms is high, and gives your stay a luxurious feel. I was in Room 301, which had a nice terrace outside where you could comfortably relax after a long hard day. What lets the hotel down unfortunately is the service level in the bistro and bar. It is impersonal (unlike some other top quality hotels I have stayed at in London), and the staff sometimes act as though they do not recognize the fact that there are customers seated there (eg two staff members were discussing a problem involving another staff member openly within earshot). On the plus side, the doorman outside deserves a special mention, as he was always very cheerful and made you feel glad to be back at the hotel when you returned after a long day. If only the f&b staff were of a similar quality ...
