“Be pampered in St. James without breaking the bank.”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Located on dead end Park Place, the hotel surroundings were quiet save for the construction down the street. We found the location perfect. Within walking distance of Bond and Regent Streets, the theater district and Buckingham Palace, we barely needed to use the Underground. The rooms were a bit small, but there was plenty of closet and storage space and the bathroom even had a double sink. Staff was most accommodating, helpful and friendly. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. However, many of the patrons as if they were lords of the court and created a stuffiness at times. We had nightly turn down service with fresh towels. The bar was a great place for a nightcap. We missed eating in the hotel's restaurant, which was our loss.

If you want to be near theater, high end shopping and be pampered like the upper crust (you don't need to act like it!), this is your place.

We loved everything about the St. James's - especially the service and gracious hospitality of its staff. From John Hennessy's welcoming Reception when we first booked the hotel, right up to departure time when we received such kind assistance, it was a truly memorable experience. In addition to John, I want to mention the Concierge members: Madeleine, Cezary and Tony who were so well informed and helpful with every request and question that we had. Dan the doorman was charming and always able to find us a taxi or give directions. Breakfasts were fabulous with great service from Sebastian. In the evening we enjoyed after-theatre dinner in the bar with Jodie taking care of us, as well as having nightcaps and interesting chats with Francesco. Our room was lovely, and meticulously maintained by the housekeeping staff. We had a truly wonderful time. The St. James's is a beautiful hotel and the service exemplary

Room Tip: Some rooms have a small balcony which is very nice.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The staff, the rooms, the food..all amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London. The location was convenient. The breakfast was delicious and had a nice selection to choose from. We had lunch and dinner as well and it was just as wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comforable and had ample space. I look forward to staying at this property on my next visit.

This is the perfect boutique hotel in one of the best neighbourhoods in London. Beautifully restored former gentlemen's Club with all modern conveniences. The rooms are fresh and nicely decorated with marble bathrooms and stunning art throughout the building. Rooms generally come with a nice breakfast buffet and the Hotel boasts one of London's finest dining establishments. The Hotel is exceptionally well located close to the Ritz Hotel, shopping on New Bond Street and Saville Row and they are neighbours with Prince Charles St. Jame's Palace. Buckingham Palace is accessible through a short tunnel out the back of the property directly into the gardens! This is a find!

Room Tip: Ask for a deluxe room or better. Rooms can be rather small in London. The Concierge service is won...

This was our first time at the St. James Club in London and we couldn't have been happier. The hotel is beautiful--located on a quiet street in a very central location (a unique combination!). The staff was incredibly friendly and the rooms and halls spotless. Many of the rooms are pressed for space (as to be expected in an older London building), but nonetheless charming and cozy. The breakfasts are delicious and after having a superb lunch on the last day in the restaurant, we wish we had eaten there more often! The club uses gym facilities at another hotel (can't remember which) close by, which apparently are very nice. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend staying here!

It is my second time here at this Gem in the best location in London and I am still wowed by the service, kindness of the staff and the management! The rooms are very comfortable. The bed linen is out of this world. It will surely not be my last time here and I can only recommend this place. From Arrival to Departure: Perfect!

We arrived early from an overseas flight and were met at the airport by the pleasant chauffeur. We were warmly welcomed at the hotel and given our room. John, the manager, is exceptionally gracious, accommodating, interested, and helpful. Hotel has an intimate atmosphere despite having 60 rooms; halls are as wide as in a home; there is a lovely staircase as well as elevator connecting floors. Quality of the furnishings, linens, towels, etc. is very tasteful and luxurious. Our room was somewhat small but had a front to street view with several windows. the concierge booked our theater tickets, was great in suggesting and booking restaurants and the door staff were unfailingly pleasant. the location of the hotel is wonderful, walking distance to the National Gallery and Westminster as well as Bond Street shops. breakfast has great variety and and is served in an intimate dining room. There is also an additional living room in the back of the hotel where guests can read the paper and hang out. A must hotel to revisit!
