A former gentlemen's club that has very traditional "English" service at it's finest. From the moment I arrived the GM personally greeted our group at the front entry. We were escourted to the check in reception keys were ready along with a very nice packet on London.

I stayed in a junior suite which was lovely. The bed was very comfortable, ample closet space and the bathroom was super special indeed. The amenities were very special and personalized. We had the awesome opportunity to go to Burrough's market with the Chef which was an very cool. I would highly recommend this hotel as it's a great value, great location, Michelin rate restaurant, and above all, GREAT SERVICE!!!

Room tip: they do not have a fitness center but they back up to Green Park which has amazing jogging trails. They have waters/fruit/towels by the jogging entry/exit.

This is my first review on Tripadvisor. Although I travel quite a bit and stay in hotels for both business and pleasure frequently, I have never felt the need to write a review until now.
I have stayed at the St James and Club Hotel several times now and each time I come to stay, it seems better than the last time.

Obviously it goes without saying that the St James's Hotel and Club is a wonderful boutique hotel. It is beautifully appointed and designed in a warm classic feel with a modern twist. The rooms are not large but this is normal in London. The rooms are very comfortable and decorated with the utmost care. The beds are fabulous, among the best I have every slept in, truly an experience The bathrooms are beautiful with a lovely cream and black marble color scheme, with thick heated towels and a little black make up towel for us ladies! These little touches make all the difference, I think. Amazing other hotels have not stolen the simple but great idea of the little black make up towel.

A big plus for me is the hotel's unbeatable location, it is superbly located in the heart of London Mayfair, in a quiet cul de sac, but only a short walk away from high-end shopping and easy access to some of London's finer restaurants and, of course, the theaters. What more could you ask for?

All this is well and good, but that is not the reason I keep coming back to this hotel.
My main reasons why this hotel has become the only hotel I stay at when I am in London: the staff, the staff and the staff!
Each and every one of the team at St James's go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as they possibly can. Many hotels around the world have wonderful locations with fabulous views and great amenities, but the service at St James's puts it in a category of it's own for me.
The Head Concierge Madeline and the Head of Front Office John and their respective teams deserve a special mention here. They are always absolutely amazing. Nothing is too much or too difficult, from theater bookings, organizing private tours, to restaurant reservations or putting your name on the guest list of a club.
Their level of service is flawless, almost to a point where they can anticipate your next request. Their professionalism is completed by a sincere warmth that gives you the feeling you are coming home.

I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a hotel with style, a great location, but above all, a team that will go to great lengths to ensure your stay will be nothing short of wonderful! Stay there and you will not be disappointed.

Having stayed at many 5* Hotel's worldwide, I have never experienced service and the true essence of an Hotel that is the entire experience of staying at St James. You are in the hands of best in class professionals across all departments throughout your stay.

As it happened we booked St James for our wedding nearby in Mayfair. There was a small mix up with the booking, and although it was no fault of the Hotel at all, they simply dealt with it and had our room ready for when we arrived.

There is certainly a reason that they have decided to keep "club" as part of its name. It truly feels like one, with your bedroom adjoining.

I could wax lyrical about each individual component of our experience there, everything absolutely perfect, but most of all it was the people that made it, every single one of them was simply very very good at what they do for a living.

You can pay a lot more in London for a lot less. Will never be forgotten and will definitely be returned to.

Only had dinner here so far, but will come back for sure. Hotel's location is one of the best, right next to St. James' Park and the service is outstanding. A former gentlemen's club, it has all of that old school style and impeccable service standards. Modern upgrades have added contemporary charm, food and wine was excellent. Will be back and try the hotel when I am in London next.

This is an amazing success in combining a first class hotel with the atmosphere and attention of a private club. Extremely well located for Piccadily and Green Park yet in a quiet side street. Very attentive and helpful staff. Much to be recommended. It was very convenient to be given immediate access to the room even although I arrived at noon.
