This Hotel ranks alongside Travelodge for standards. If you don't expect too much then you won't be disappointed
Perhaps the best thing about this place is the Restaurant which offers food with a strong Greek influence. Sadly the other restaurants within the immediate vicinity do not measure up to the standards of Flames.

Have stated several times before but this has now gone down market in a big way. Bedroom was unloved and sink had a plug with a rusty paper clip attached as obviously someone had broken the chain.
Breakfast was a complete shambles. Joined a long queue to be served lukewarm food from a buffet and then had to join another queue to make your own toast, coffee etc. except they had run out of cups.
It used to be a cheap good value hotel but prices have increased and quality decreased enormously.
Will have to find another location because this is rubbish now.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry that you feel the quality of breakfast has declined and we will discuss this with the restaurant operator who provides this service. I am not sure when you stayed but I had breakfast at the hotel yesterday morning and I enjoyed it, although I may have been lucky as there were no queues when I ate.

Inevitably most people come down at around the same time and jn common with every other hotel that has ever been built we do no have enough tables to cater for this situation......we would need 88 tables!!

Sorry about the queues but by making the free breakfast a buffet this does queues and delays shorter than they would be otherwise.

I do hope you will use the hotel again.

Kind regards

David

I stayed at this hotel recently in a double en-suite room with a friend for one night for £95 with breakfast. We are not tourists and therefore were not staying in the hotel for it's location, however I will add the location is good for restaurants, a bar and bus and tube access.
There was a terrible smell of uncleanliness as we walked along the long corridors to our room. Once entering our room we were highly disappointed. The décor was unbelievably old, with dark blue carpets and yellow patterned wall paper peeling off of the wall. The bathroom was cramped and did not contain a window. The sealant around the bath was coming off, which is unhygienic.
The bed however was very comfortable. There was a small kettle with 4 tea bags, 4 sachets of sugar and 4 small pots of milk in a drawer which was rather insufficient.
The breakfast was one of the worst cooked breakfasts I have ever been served. There was a limited choice of fried eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, beans and sausages. The bacon was totally cold and rubbery. The sausages were the cheapest, slimiest sausages I have ever tried. For £95 per night I expected a lot more than this.

Thanks for your review and I am sorry that the sealant was coming adrift around your bath and we are currently having all baths resealed but as you will appreciate this does take a while. Not sure how this translates into the "headline" of dirty bathroom though. The bathroom like most hotel bathrooms in the UK unless it is a country house hotel conversion , will not have a window so I am bemused that you found this surprising. I am also sorry that you did not like our colour scheme.

Breakfast, whilst provided by an external restaurant company, is free, but it is still our responsibility and we will raise this with the operator. However I ate breakfast yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, so we need to find out why there was an issue when you were with us.

Thanks for posting a review and I do hope we will see you again.

Kindest regards

David

I stayed here with my wife when visiting Alexandra Palace.
We made our way there by tube, it took us maybe 10-15 mins to walk from finchley west and then a cab to alley palley cost us £12 each way.
The rooms were functional, tv with many stations, tea/coffee making facility, room was pretty clean, bed comfortable, didn't try the breakfast as having a night away from an 8 month old baby a lie in was more important!
Found the staff to be very friendly when we did encounter them.
The hotel is next to many other outlets such as Mcd's, pizza hut etc so plenty of places to eat out if required.
It suited our needs well, was fairly priced for what it was and would probably stay there again if visiting alley palley.

This is a well-priced hotel ,very conveniently located for north London, easily reached with good parking and with access to the Northern Line a short bus ride away. A recent good stay at this hotel with a clean room which was quiet at night. The bathroom was very good with space to put washbags etc beside the sink, always a bonus. The breakfast was good too but it runs from 7 am to 9 am and is cleared away quite quickly. The in-hotel restaurant, Flames, was Greek based and not to our taste but there is a very good Cafe Rouge in the car park next to the hotel and many other eating places a few more yards away in the Leisure Park. Staff very pleasant and we would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the hotel may be quieter but the ones at the front have a better view.

After reading reviews regarding this hotel I was worried that my trip would be spoilt, but no! The hotel is clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, the location excellent for food and entertainment. There are plenty of resaurants in the complex, with a cinema, bowling alley and gym, swimming pool. I know that's not what you go for a trip to london for but on the first night we relaxed after our day out with a mexican meal and a film.
The location is not good for getting to london by tube. We caluculated the distance as 1 1/2 miles which is too far to walk after an exhausting day in london.
The breakfast is fine. OK the sausages and bacon aren't the best but there is endless cereal and toast to fill up on if you don't want it.
I was happy with my choice of hotel but next time will choose one near to the underground.

as ever a lovely stay at Comfort Hotel Finchley. The beds are so comfortable. One problem was that we didnt get down for breakfast until 9.45 (it finishes at 10.00) there was no bacon left, only crusts for toast and the water had run out in the urn. Still the staff were helpful as ever and very pleasant. Must remember to get down earlier for breakfast next time.

Room Tip: Bathrooms need a bit of renovation and change valance sheets on beds more regularly.
