Wonderful central location. Awful service, snooty air which - whilst befitting the area - was amplified by the staff.

Thoroughly useless when contacted about the temperature of the room. Would have been better at a travel lodge. The cleaners were tip top, however.

Room Tip: The room was freezing and seemed to overlook a lane which doubled as a spillover for a bar.

Stayed here last year - it's a very nice boutique hotel tucked away down a small sidestreet (Thredneedle Street) right in the heart of the City. Great location for work, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants around the area too (Paul Smith, Brooks Brothers right next door, etc).

My room was very modern, spacious, clean and had a very nice modernized but classy decor. The bathroom is large and has a shower and tub. The bed was very comfortable as well.

The lobby is quite classy and the lounge/dining area is very well done with beautiful wood furniture and finishings - you really feel like you are in an upscale London hotel, that feels old but looks new (if that's possible!).

Loved the Honor Bar and used it nightly - just remember to pay!! The scene at night later around the bar is always interesting with an interesting well-dressed crowd of business and holiday travelers!

The Pacific Oriental restaurant just down the street is a pretty good place for lunch too.

All in all I would highly recommend this hotel - about the only complaint I have is the lack of the gym which for me is usually a must, but having said that you are allowed access to a very nice gym located just down the street...but in winter that can be a daunting prospect if you're trying to get in a workout before hitting the office!! I would give this hotel a 4.75 out of 5, but its surely in the 5-star category due to the service and general amenities, and would stay there again. It's quite pricey I belive but I was there for work so did not have to pay.

Great location in a lovely area 3 mins walk from Bank tube station on the central line & 6 mins walk from Liverpool street station on the central line, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, Circle tube lines. Lovely hotel didn’t eat anything apart from free apples in the room!

Thank you for staying and for reviewing the hotel and the area. The City is a magical place and, as you mention, so close to all the tube lines and just a short taxi ride to the westend buzz. We hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

I have stayed in many hotels in London on business and pleasure. Threadneedles would be among my top 2 favorites with Claridges being the other. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful, modern and large by London standards with the amenities that you would expect at a 5 Star Hotel. You will not find a more comfortable bed in London. The staff of the hotel is wonderful. They really care about their guests and it shows in the little things that they do to make your stay very pleasant experience. It is a little quiet in the City on weekends, but I welcome the respite. The Bank Tube Station is 2 minute walk and you can get anywhere in the City from Bank. I highly recommend this hotel!

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to your next visit. Thank you for your review. As you mention, The City is a great place to stay as it offers you that peace and quiet and at the same time, the West End is only a very short drive away. One New Change near St. Paul's is also open at the weekends now, which has a variety of shops and eateries.

We booked a suite in this hotel for a Saturday night. We were looking for somewhere with easy access to all areas of the city. The hotel is near the bank of England. So there area is very quiet at the weekend, with lots of shops/restaurants closed. This should not put you off, the hotel is wonderful, excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will look to stay there again on our next visit to London.

Thank you so much for staying and for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your weekend break away and hope that you will return in the not too distant future. The City is a great place to stay despite most shops being closed. One New Change near St. Pauls is a shopping centre now open on weekends and they also offer a variety of restaurants.
