“Great Location”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

This is a great hotel in a fab location, and I would definitely stay here again on a weekend in London. The only reason I didn't award 5 stars overall is because our room was a little small, the hotel doesn't have that many facilities (ie no gym or pool), and the temperature of the water in the shower kept randomly fluctuating. The toiletries in the room were top notch though, and there were nice touches like up to date magazines in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and courteous at all times. Must mention the breakfast too- absolutely delicious!

I stay in hotels in many countries.
To the reviewers complaining that their romantic weekend was not what it should have been, think, this hotel is at the heart of London's financial district, it's aimed at business customers.
I could not fault anything , bed excellent, bathroom facilities excellent, bar well stocked, staff could not have been more helpful, room service very prompt.
Two very minor complaints, a sandwich should be made with two slices of bread and not a bun roll, no matter how good, which even my big mouth could not encircle(sorry eating a sandwich with a knife and fork is anathema to me).
The breakfast bacon sandwich, sorry roll, had too much bacon(good bacon, both back and streaky) and was a little off putting.
Otherwise a delightful stay and will certainly go again

I booked this hotel as a wedding present for my nephew and his wife on the 08th of April'12 and we cannot fault a thing about this fabulous hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the room were better than we anticipated. As we opened the door, there was an immediate wow factor from everyone. The decor were very balanced. As designers, we gave it an excellent Mark with no doubt. The Rose petals on the bed and around the room as request were done beautifully with care and attention. And the couple had a great night sleep with the luxurious experience before they fly on to Paris. I will recommend this hotel to all my family and friends and will stay there myself in the future without any fear of regrets.

Room Tip: A good location, close to the main tourist sites. Travelling to the west end is very easy by the und...

You can't beat the location! You could practically fall out of bed and into Bank tube station on the central line or go to work the next morning having slept in a deliciously crisp white linen comfy bed and proper rain shower. Good for business travellers, theatre goers who are looking for something a little more exclusive and away from the tourists.

The bar is tucked away and serves expensive, elegant drinks but the space lacks atmosphere and intimacy. You're better off venturing out into the streets to find a more lively atmosphere.

The service was outstanding and I would highly recommend this little gem.

Unfortunately the night we stayed the air-con was not working and we cooked! I am sure they have fixed it by now...

Room Tip: Ensure air-con is working to your satisfication right away.

Despite only living a few stops down the Northern line, we treated ourselves to a weekend in the CIty and the hotel is a great base. Joyously quiet at the weekend but close enough to Spitalfields, The Tate and the other pleasures of the the City at the weekend. We had a lovely suite, comfortable, with a great bathroom (although the poorly fitting doors are not necessarily top notch when it comes to preserving your modesty). But there is one complaint (which - by all accounts - is not unique)...having left the room in the morning and come back mid-afternoon (about 3.30pm), we were fairly astonished to find our room was half/quarter made up. Well the bed was stripped and towels on the floor so really quite destroyed. We just wanted to have a rest so I went to reception to ask if our room could be made up soon because - given it was neither here nor there - we couldn't relax. I was told that making up the room could take until 6pm although rooms were never left half done (obviously our eyes had deceived us). We decided to have a drink in the bar in the hope that our room would be made up and actually it was done quite quickly. It's not a major complaint, more of a niggle and it possibly would have been nice to have been offered a drink whilst we waited rather than us having to take the initiative (and be charged for it).
The only other point that stopped me giving this an "excellent" was the very limited choice at breakfast. Any straying from the prescribed breakfast choice seems to be penalised quite heavily (from a price point of view) and the restaurant's inability to make a "proper" pot of tea is disgraceful.

Thank you very much for staying with us and for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed staying with us and discovering London.

Please accept my apologies for us servicing your bedroom so late in the afternoon.

We usually service our stay over bedrooms once we have cleaned all our departure rooms, ready for a 2pm arrival. However, on request, we are always happy to service all our guests rooms, at their preferred times. We have made contact with you so that we can make a note on your profile for next time. This way we can ensure that we service your room in the morning. We will also make a note so that we serve your tea made in the tea pot, as opposed to out T Forte presentation.

We look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.

This hotel is perfect for the business traveler needing to be located central to the financial areas or Lloyd's. Although a but more expensive than some others in the area, it's well worth it. A lot of subtle nice touches and the staff is very focused on the satisfaction of their guests. I had a problem with the AC in my room and they made every effort to see to it that the problem was corrected.

Threadneedles is in the heart of the City, which is a ghost town at the weekend. However, we often stay in London and so knew what to expect. We chose the Threadneedles for our wedding anniversary because it is very well located for the tube and central London and although very quiet the surrounding area is very pleasant.
Our room was a very decent size for a London hotel and had real character; the hotel is very pleasant and the reception, bar and restaurant staff at breakfast were extremely friendly and helpful.
There was very little to grumble about but one or two areas that could be improved: complimentary water is advertised, but this took 4 hours to arrive at our room so we were charged for using water out of the mini bar during this period. Housekeeping could also be improved. We left the room for the theatre at 6pm and returned around 11pm. I would have expected a five star hotel for housekeeping to have visited the room in the evening to turn down and to clear away the glasses and remnants of the fruit and champagne we had earlier, but they had not. The WiFi signal was also very weak in our room.
We booked the romance package. Although we did not take advantage of the bubble bath with the silk rose petals, I though the romance package, which included champagne, chocolates and a full English or continental breakfast was good value. Breakfast was first class.
For the price we paid I think the hotel provides very good value for money at the weekend and I would certainly consider visiting again.

Thank you for staying at Threadneedles and for your valid feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the hotel, your room, and our services.

We are very sorry to hear that you experienced an issue with your complimentary water. Unfortunately, our team failed to communicate with you during check in time that turndown is carried out at between 5 – 9 pm, and this is when we provide complementary water. Having followed up with Housekeeping, it appears there was a lack of communication as the ladies who handed you the water had also come to turn down your room. We should have communicated with you that we would be back later in the evening to do the turndown as you were still busy in your room. Unfortunately the lady responsible for your room that evening had understood that you merely wanted the water and no turndown. We sincerely apologise for the lack of communication here, which should not have happened. We have addressed this with our team members accordingly. We hope to welcome you back again in the near future. All our guest feedback is important to us and we sincerely thank you for reviewing your experience.
