We spent the loveliest weekend here in March and from the moment we encountered fabulous service, beautiful surroundings and exactly the serene sanctuary we needed...

I couldn't fault this hotel, and I will definitely return! The only thing to be aware of is that the City, with its shops and restaurants, are mostly closed on the weekend, but Bank tube is so close you can nip into the centre, or up to Shoreditch and Spitalfields. Perfect!

Only good things to say about this hotel. We stayed two nights for a weekend away without the kids. The hotel is located in the London City banking district and as a consequence less lively than other areas of London might be over the weekend. There is an Asian restaurant (Oriental Pacific) across the road (open Fri, but closed Sat) and there is a Jamie Oliver restaurant in the same street. The big plus is that the hotel is only a 3-5 minute walk from Bank tube station (central line) and therefore an ideal base to explore the city. Also Monument tube station (district and circle line) is less than 10 mins walk away.
The hotel itself oozes calmness and class. The room we stayed in was very quiet and comfortable. Staff is very friendly.
The 'night owl' room service menu contains some basic but good dishes like a club- and a steak-sandwich.

I stayed at the Threadneedles hotel with my partner this weekend and I have to say I was extremely impressed with the service. We did not arrive until around 6.30 to check and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady named Agna. I was pleasantly surprised to be told that we had been upgraded to a superior room which I was very happy about. One of her colleagues also at the check in desk then informed us that we weren’t been upgraded to a superior room but to the Shackleton Suite. The suite was absolutely beautiful, gorgeous décor, very spacious, fantastic bathroom and very large comfortable bed along with all the amenities available on hand. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and very approachable, nothing was too much effort. I travel to London quite frequently for weekend visits and I must say this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and the customer service was outstanding. I will definitely be staying at the hotel again, really cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

The service here never fails to impress me. I stayed on Friday 28 February and the gentleman on check-in was very professional and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble including the loan of a phone charger. This is one of my favourite places to stay. It doesn't get much better than Threadneedles.

Stayed here on a return visit for two nights. We use this hotel for business due to its location and generally very good standard. This time round I was puzzled to have to pay GBP 355 for a small room with an even smaller bathroom (203). Toiletries have been changed so now no hand/body lotion any longer - you have to ask for it.. We called a couple of days ahead to ask if we could have a meeting in the lounge and reserve a table, we were told it's not possible. When we got there, reserved signs all over at tables?? What gives?

This hotel is in the heart of the London financial district. Lots of high powered young Turks bustling about. We used a Marriott Points to do London right, but it took a LOT of points for our two night stay. It's a very lavish hotel with a very well appointed room, and we were upgraded to an executive room at check in. A nice surprise. But the hotel also upgraded the nightly fee (charged in ADDITION to the points) from £50 to £55, and I had to produce my booking receipt to get the rate adjusted. One disappointment was that the king sized bed is actually two twins. Not a big problem, but the seam between the mattresses was noticeable.

If you want to feel like a million bucks this is a good choice. But like most high end hotels, the more you pay... the more you pay. We were able to get a reasonably priced meal; deli sandwiches with chips (fries) for only £6.50, but the two glasses of water were an additional £2 each!

My partner and myself stayed here for one night in early February. Could not fault the hotel at all. I had to take a work call whilst checking in and the concierge kept my partner entertained with stories and a complimentary drink. We then learned we had been upgraded to a suite free of charge. We paid £123 booking on LateRooms.com and it was worth every penny. Room was beautiful, dressing gowns still soft, bed linen crisp and clean. Having a separate room in the suite was great as that meant we had two different huge TVs to watch what we liked on. A lovely added touch was the bluetooth speaker by the bed.
The bathroom was nice. My only comment is that the towel heater by the toilet was very warm and we burnt our knees stumbling into their in the middle of the night! Aside from that a lovely hotel, excellent transport links. Would definitely recommend!
