Aumber of reviews comment on the size of the rooms in the eaves. The clue's in the numbering system 55A, B etc being the ones to avoid!

I was initially allocated one but was fortunate enough to get a call from reception where they'd spotted my request for a double bed if possible on my advance booking. After that everything was great. A new room (57) was of a really good size as was the bathroom. it was at the back of the hotel which I'd recomend given that the hotel's located only a few metres from the very busy Upper Richmond Road. Other pluses are the lovely rear garden which was ideal for a few drinks on a hot summer's evening & an excellent breakfast selection. Plenty of off-street parking was also a bonus & all for sub £100. I'd definitely stay there again.

Room 55B - avoid like the plague.

Tiny (is a single) and at the top of the house so extremely hot in summer. No air conditioning so you have to open the window which means that it sounds like every car, motorbike, van and plane are next to you all night.

Bathroom is ok but the eaves mean you cannot stand up in the shower (I'm five foot six) but instead have to shower sitting down.

The walls are paper thin and so you hear everything from room 55A which you are next to.

The hotel staff are pleasant and friendly which is why this review has a 'poor' rather than a 'terrible' rating.

I did ask for a fan which was provided promptly but which was fairly lacking in its usefulness versus the noise it made.

Next morning (five hours sleep at most) I did say something to the reception desk staff and they just said 'next time ask for a quiet room' which I think is crazy as surely you shouldn't have to ask for somewhere pleasant enough to sleep.

Avoid.

Room Tip: Avoid 55B.

We had two twin beds, and there wasn't space for much else in our room; however, the rooms were perfectly clean and had a newly updated bathroom. The Lodge is location in more of a residential area, which meant less outside noise. It also meant more travel time to and from the inner city, but it was also really close to the East Putney Underground station (.25 mile walk). Overall nice place to stay!

We arrived to what I would describe as an absent minded welcome and the place seemed disorganised. They had wine on offer which was not available, and there was a lack of staff. The bedroom was small, the bed not very comfortable, and there was no bath. breakfast was not bad but when it came to the second morning we went elsewhere. I would not go again.

As stated by many other reviewers, The Lodge has good location, small but clean standard rooms, more suitable for one person than two, friendly and helpful staff, free parking. In our room the floorboard squeaked at every step, the room was warm, but we were offered a fan.

Beware though, if your breakfast is not included in your rate, it will cost £12 per person for the buffet.

Room Tip: Try for the executive or luxury rooms.
