“Busy but maybe because of it's location”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 via mobile

It was my second visit at this place. Pizza was excellent the first time round (back in May) but just ok this time round. The taste was there, the base was thin and crusty but it was a little on the cold side. Not good.
My partner ordered tagiatelle con funghi and it was awful- pasta wasn't even tagiatelle and it was hard (not al dente hard- purely undercooked). The cream sauce held some promise in it but the dish overall was very poor.
Wouldn't rush back.

“worth a return visit”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

this is the second time I have reviewed this little restaurant as the first time I couldn't believe such value in theatreland existed
we ate before attending a show in a local theatre
the service was quick and efficient
pizzas were large and crispy and the pasta came steaming and in large bowls
we had an mildly expensive bottle of red wine and puddings and the bill came to a little over £40 for two diners
well worth hunting out on your next trip to the smoke

“Disgusting food! Terrible service!”

Dreadful. Simply dreadful.
Old Compton St. is not necessary known for its food, but this restaurant is just awful.
Stay away!

“Lovely food, lovely people”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

My parents eat here every time they come to London, however this was my first time eating here.
I found the food great value for money and the staff were very friendly. We sat down at 6:30pm and by 7:30pm there was barely a free seat. I have already recommended it to friends.

“If you find yourself in Soho - and only a plate of pasta or pizza will do!”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

I have been going to the Pollo Bar for years - almost 20 in fact. It ain't pretty or comfortable. But the food, more than makes up for it. Staff can be a bit hit and miss. Never sit downstairs - if you can avoid it. My preference, is always the two table closest to the door - with a view into Old Compton street. Pizzas are very good, but I tend to go for the pasta - but both are always good.
