Charlton isn't just about the football it is about the people too. Talking and enjoying the game, with a beer before and at half time. Average prices for football in London, a bit high based on the current league.

If you are in London and want enjoy sport, try a Charlton Athletic match. Premier League matches are always sold out, and too expensive. Clubs in The Championship plays at a very high level too, and the crowd sings through the match. Both me and my girlfriend loved it, even if we don't support Charlton. You can buy tickets in the door. The stadium holds 27.000 seats, but the average crowd is 16.600. It was built back in 1919 and the record attendance is 75.000 in 1938. There are plans for exapanding the capacity to 40.000, but that might demand a couple of seasons in The Premier League first.

When visiting Britain and Ireland ,many things are lost on the visitor, since the Islands have had human occupation for tens of thousands of years, from nomadic hunter gathers to famers, to the beginning of the industrial revolution. Out of this came human social development, only the original Greek Olympics surpas the social collaboration of Football ( Soccer). Origins began in the 11 th century along with rugby, but many years before modern Olympics began, footbal was played by' different' working men and women throughout the British Isles, 'Arsenal' workers from the military foundry, west ham from steel mill and some were formed like Charlton to keep boys of the streets. Soccer is enjoyed by millions every week at the stadium/grounds,almost all are covered and seated. Despite what you have scene in world media, safety is paramount, smoking is band, alcohol is available as well as food. This is a relatively new stadium and offers all sorts of amenities, it is relatively near the docklands/ tube/underground and served by buses. There is disabled access to. When visiting contact the secretary and they will treat you very well.
Near by is the O2 center formerly known as the. Milennium Dome, Greenwich village, Greenwich palace, Eltham Palace and the Cutty Sark...
Enjoy....Goooooooallllllll!!!!!!
