Amazing show. Went with a friend and our eldest children (aged 8) and we all loved it. The children did not speak the whole way through. The skills of the puppet masters was truly brilliant. So moving and shed a few bucket loads of tears! Well worth the visit and the cost.

“Amazing!”

Wow, such an amazing theatre experience, out of this world! The actors are superb. I can't wait to go again, I had the hankies out from the start of scene 1, act 1!

“Sensitive and beautiful”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

The storyline is heartwarming and dramatic with tense and extraordinary pathos. The characters, including the horse puppet are subtle and engaging and the action sequences are well choreographed.

Far getter than the contrived Hollywood feeling created by the movie. Well worth going to for any age.

Puppetry was excellent! The puppet horse seems so alive with great expression! Actors were good too.

“FANTASTIC, GRIPPING, VISUALLY BRILLIANT”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

Last night 2 families used the "kids go free" tickets to watch War Horse, so 8 of us in total. We were sat in row O which is second from the back. The theatre is of a super design that no matter where you sit in the stalls you get a great view. The theatre felt small which was also a plus as it was more intimate.

Well the play itself was just brilliant, we all enjoyed it, the children were aged 11-15 2 boys and 2 girls. The story was enthralling, the horses were amazing and how the show was put together was very original. The story was gripping, funny and sad. A really great play for all the family, maybe not for very young children as a few bangs and flashes and the story does need to be followed. Most of us had all read the book and seen the film so knew sort of what to expect. Having said that if you had no idea what it was about I can imagine it would be very exciting as well. Would certainly recommend. Super area, nice and central, loads of places to eat and drink and 5 mins from the Holborn tube. All round great night, great play and Joey was a real star..... No need to charge £3.50 for a tiny tub of Haagan Das ice cream tho'!
