McDonalds round the corner for breakfast

Subways,Tesco and a variety of outlets for lunch

Plenty of restaurants below Tower Bridge of evening meals

No pubs open after 11 pm

Quiet area in the evenings as this is the "business area"

We stumbled on this Travelode because oue usual more West End locations were expensive for the date we wanted.Glad we did - it is a fairly new addition - situated down an alleyway adjacent to one of the many city churches - almose opposite Cannon Street Station. Two minutes fom the Bank of England or St Pauls. A converted older builing only 4 floors , the rooms were smaller than usual but the whole place had a more 'boutique' flavour. The staff could have not been more helpfull.
Travel to the West End was easy (on the 15 bus route West End to City) and there were plenty of pubs/wine bars around.

Lovely Travelodge. Exactly as you would expect. Easy to find. Pleasant to stay in. Comfortable beds. Could do with air conditioning but am sure this would increase the price. Also had a level of noise but again this is to be expected in central London.

Stayed at the Travelodge in London near the Bank Tube stop. This hotel is tucked away in the alley between big financial buildings, a small bakery, and a restaurant. The width of the door makes you think this can only be a vertical hotel with only 1-2 rooms on each floor but once you get off the elevator you'll see that they have about 15 rooms on each floor and this clearly was built between other buildings. Your basic needs are met here, if you make your reservations at least 30 days in advance, you can probably negotiate a pretty awesome rate for London, but last minute bookings will triple the rate. The hotel typically houses the business traveler. The only drawback, the room doesn't have a microwave or fridge so keep that in mind if you were expecting to hold some food/snacks/drinks in the fridge to keep your meal expenses down while traveling. Also, they don't have a breakfast included but do offer the Travelodge Breakfast Bag which is a reasonable cost for a continental selection. You'll find the room to be clean and comfortable. They just changed out the mattresses while we visited in June 2013 so you'll have a brand new bed if you have a trip in 2013. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for five nights and were extremely pleased with our stay. We found it easy to find, I'd done a lot of research beforehand and new exactly where it was. The staff were very helpful and always ready to help, the room was basic but bigger than expected with all that was needed. There was some building work going on around the hotel at the time which caused some noise but not a great problem. At 233.00 Pounds for five nights, a large room, large bathroom, very clean, a good bed, in central London close to two stations a bus stop, walking distance to many tourist attractions it was great! The hotel had started to upgrade it's rooms while we were there so not sure if this means higher prices. We would definitely stay here again.
