“Great Savings and Near to Everything”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

A no-frills centrally located budget hotel, Travelodge London Bank (TLB) will save you $$$. It has a strict check-in time of 3 PM unless you could fork over 10 pounds, but don't do it because you can go to a nearby coffee shop or eateries with WiFi to drink, snack and chill. Reception staff is super friendly and helpful. Most cleaning staff does not speak fluent English but is very kind and thoughtful. Room is small and has minimal counter space, but remember this is a budget hotel that thrives on saving you $$$. The bed is super comfy! We stayed here 5 nights in 2 different rooms and both showers had small leaks in the right front corner next to the sink but just wipe up the leaks and you'll be fine. TLB is near to three Underground or Tube Stations: Cannon Street (right across the street but closed down in the evening and part of the weekend), Monument is a few blocks east, and Bank is a few blocks north of TLB. We stayed here two times (January and April 2014) and love the location because we can walk to everywhere: eastward to London Bridge and Tower Hill and westward to St. Paul, One New Change, Millenium Bridge, Tate, and further to Blackfriars and Temple Court. Near to TLB, you can find food & snacks at the Sainsbury Local, M&S Simply Food (outside of Cannon Street Station), EAT, McDonald, a dim sum/sushi eat-in or takeaway, several coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants. You can eat and drink on a budget or splurge. Bus 15 runs frequently can take you eastward to Tower Hill or westward to Charing Cross and Trafalgar Square, but the bus can be crowded. There is no air conditioning so it will be hot from mid-June to early September. No hot breakfast and on lounge to dine and/or wait. You can purchase cold breakfast snack box from Reception if you are desperate. Be adventurous and get out there to Cannon Street and find your hot meals! Walk the City and enjoy the old and new architecture and don't let any of the suits push you around! Cheers!

This was the first time I stayed in a Travelodge and I was pleasantly suprised, The room although quite small had everything we needed. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Special mention to Skeeter on reception who was very helpful.

Everything was excellent, the room was clean and confortable. The best of the romos is the bed, fantastic. If there was free Wi-Fi, it would be perfect.
The staff is also great, we didn`t have any problem.

A nice, relatively quiet (especially at weekends) hotel in the heart of the financial city, tucked away but within easy reach of all atractions and transport links.Visited the Monument, Shard and Southwark Cathederal which were all within easy walking distance

Nice hotel, handy to the tube and DLR. Room was tidy with comfy bed. I was running in the marathon on Sunday and luckily the hotel was very quiet on the Saturday so got a good nights sleep. However the hotel guests were noisy on the Friday so a bit more disturbed. The area closes after the Friday evening office workers drinks have finished so ideal for a quiet stay in central location. Would stay again.

Couldn't fault this place. Clean, warm nice area and the staff were so obliging and helpful couldn't do enough for us
15 minutes from Tower of London on foot.
40 minutes to china town on foot
From picadilly circus circus take number 23 bus to get you near hotel.
If you arrive by tube go out exit 6 which is 2 mins away from hotel.
Breakfast is only available in boxes £5 we didn't have this so can't comment.

Room Tip: We had room 409 good night sleep

We stayed for a Friday and Saturday night. Price was cheapest for somewhere this close to the centre of London.
I can agree with a lot of the reviews on here, room was clean and comfortable but no thrills. Shower curtain leaks. City of London closes down at weekend so hard to find local eats and drinks, but does mean its quiet, although my partner says there was a noisy air con next door. Was a bit hard to find. Walking distance from Tower of London, St Pauls and Liverpool St.
