Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed here for 6 nights from 6/29-7/5. This hotel is in the most convenient place for seeing all of the sights. We had an adjoining Executive King room and an Executive Twin Room. These rooms were on the third floor to the side of the building.

We had a flight that arrived from the USA at 7:30am. Therefore we arrived at the hotel around 9:00am. We had already requested an early check in and our rooms were ready for us!

Both rooms were excellent. The bedding was fantastic and the rooms were very large with a sofa sitting area and a large TV that you could rotate to face the bed or the sofa. The bathroom included both a large soaking tub and a shower with rain head and a regular head.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

We did have a problem with the water running under the glass shower door and all over the bathroom floor if we didn't put towels around it before showering. Also, the lower floor window noise can get bothersome. The side of the building we were on had the open-top London tour buses stopping right under our window and you could hear the tour guide's speaker. It seems that the windows could be more insulated.

There are plenty of pubs and coffee shops within a two or three block radius and the St. James Park tube station is right across the street. Plus, you really feel safe because Scotland Yard is also right across the street! We would enjoyed our time at this hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Pick a higher floor to get away from the street noise.

This is a few blocks from Westminster Abbey and Big Ben, but actually sits on a rather quiet street directly across from a Tube station and Scotland Yard. I can't say enough about this smaller Intercontinental. We stayed at the other one on the westside of town last year (MUCH cheaper cab ride to that one from Heathrow), however, this one beats it by a lot. The staff upon checkin was fabulous and efficient. Because it's only 6 floors, it has more of a personal boutique feel to it compared to its larger sister across town. Moreover, strategically located across the tube station helped tremendously. It was also a 15 minute taxi ride to Paddington Station from where we took the Heathrow Express train and saved a significant amount of money on the return trip to airport. Highly recommend this property. Room was spacious, modern, yet warm and gorgeous.

Booked last minute with my husband to stay in the city after a drinks evening. Great staff helped out with booking issues (Last Minute.com can be a bit slow in confirming).

The room and facilities were excellent. Just a little warning that the complimentary coffees etc are in the in the same tray as the non complimentary items!

Very comfortable room, very quiet for a central London location - literally across the road from St James Tube station.

Had a lovely stay there with my family (which includes a 3 year old kid). Love the place. Great room layout and size. Convenient location if you are a first time visitor to London. A lot of the sights are within walking distance.

My wife and I booked this hotel last minute after we decided to stay overnight before going to the Celebration Games (olympics 2 years on) in Horse Guards Parade. The hotel is only 5 minutes away and only 5 minutes from the sites and sounds of Westminster. The Hotel was supberb in many ways, the reception staff were welcoming and very polite, so made us feel special and the staff at breakfast the next morning were very attentive without being overwelming. The room was spotless, modern and very comfortable as well as quiet at night. Like may hotels in London in built up areas they are no views. But having stayed in London many times on business in the past, they are few and far between unless you stay in a high rise or pay over the odds. This is a great 5 star hotel, in a quiet location not far from all the sites and attractions in London so I would stay here again.
