“Conveniently located close to main London sights”

This is a nice new hotel, located close to key London attractions. Rooms are well appointed and housekeeping professional. The hotel offers some good dining options and a nicely decorated lounge where afternoon tea is also served. We did not experience the afternoon tea but it looked great. We had a room with executive club access - the club offered a decent selection for breakfast and afternoon snacks but despite advertising the club as closing at 10 PM, they were locking up drinks - including water - at 8 PM and charged for these instead. We complained about this once and they favorably addressed our concerns though. One weak point of this hotel is the concierge service - no matter who was working the concierge desk, they did not seem very helpful. All in all, a good hotel and we would definitely come back.

I just returned from a lovely weekend stay at the InterContinental London Westminster. Located literally right across from the St. James's Park Tube Station, the location of the hotel is very convenient for getting around London. Indeed, the area itself has a lot of major attractions nearby and with Westminster next door it serves as one of the most upscale parts of London. For tourists it's an ideal base for exploring the most popular London attractions.

The service we received upon check-in was great and courteous and fortunately we were able to check in a little early. The room (a Superior) was beautifully decorated, albeit slightly on the small side. Very modern looking and with a distinct luxurious feel. Very clean too - not a spot or crack in sight. The bathroom was spacious and featured a bathtub, an amazing rain shower and seperate toilet.

The room also had a nice (but pricey) mini bar and all the amenities you'd expect of an InterContinental, such as bathrobers, slippers, room service and a very nice flatscreen HD TV with a good selection of channels and pay-per-view movies.

Only downside to the room was the view. From our first floor room, all we could see from the windows was directly into an office building across the street. But to be fair, for central London you can't really expect a view for the most part.

The restaurant on site was also great - and we had the best T-Bone Steak of our lives (highly recommended!). There's also a very nice bar and lounge area.

It's a relatively expensive hotel, but you get a luxurious experience, great service from staff all around, and a hotel that is ideally located in central London.

Sadly, the hotel is set to close on August 31 2014, turning into a Conrad. Not sure how much the hotel will change, but certainly the ownership will be different (and this review will probably be rendered moot.. alas).

to what has been said before, the hotel is in an ideal location opposite St James's tube station, and not far from Westminster or Victoria. Beautifully clean, excellent reception (surprise upgrade to executive room), relaxing atmosphere. Room on 6th floor (no waits for the lift), superbly equipped, clean and tidy. Nice touch to have the turn down service, slippers up out ready and bath mats by the bath ready for use on our return from dinner. The bed was so comfy and the linen of the most highest quality.
Didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on that aspect.
All in all an excellent stay and the staff all a credit to the hotel.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely part of London. It is walking distance from Westminster Abby and moments away from St James Park. The St James Park Underground station is across the road but despite this, it is situated on a quiet road. The staff were helpful and efficient. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: We paid for a room with a street view.

In our 12-year of trips all around the world this stay was one of our best accomodation. A very beautiful and calm hotel with a nice athmosphere in lobby and warm and energetic people around. My wife loved the room, clean, beatifully decorated and comfortable bed. The only drawback I can mention is that the room was not perfectly soundproof, although our room was located in 3'd floor and all glasses are 2-layer , I wonder how much we could hear Tothill St. noises inside the room. However it was not totally annoying comparing to what we gain.

Clean, comfortable, modern, friendly, professional, good food, excellent location. In addition I left my wallet in the safe when I left to return to the US and I got my wallet back completely intact with all its contents!

Room Tip: I had a room with 2 twins and I could not believe how comfortable the beds were! I always get a kin...
