We spent one night at the hotel, during a two-day stay of sightseeing in London. It was a celebratory occasion so we wanted something special, and we got it. The hotel is just wonderful. We had two Superior rooms (one King, one Twin). Although the rooms are not huge, every tiny little space has been used, and finished, to a very high level of both taste and functionality. The bathroom was amazing, the bed extremely comfortable, the breakfast exquisite (not a huge selection of items, but everything delicious). Only minor quibble, a slightly clunky TV system (but very easy - and free, of course - WiFi). Everything else spectacular. Including the location, which could hardly be more central (St James tube stop about 50 m from from entrance of hotel). In summary, a great hotel both for the busineess traveller and the demanding tourist. We would definitely go back. So far, our favorite London hotel.

Wonderful service, rooms are spacious and modern. Shower is fantastic! Beds are very comfortable. We added the breakfast option and I definitely recommend. It's a fantastic way to start off the day, very large selection of food items. We are runners, so the proximity to St. James park was ideal in the mornings for a run- and the hotel has bottles of water to take with you.
We also enjoyed the restaurant/bar in the hotel. Even later in the evening, the bar has yummy menu items for a weary traveler after a day of sightseeing.
I can't say enough about how we enjoyed our stay- the location is perfect for walking to most attractions, the underground is directly across the street for visiting attractions that are further away. The concierge staff is friendly and very helpful.

Prime location for sightseeing, wonderful to walk around to many major attractions, very nice room (very conducive to a good nights sleep) and public areas, good service throughout except the concierge (who was not able to book a visit to Buckingham palace, albeit on a short notice, or call a cab that would not be a famous black one). Too bad, the hotel will no longer be a part of this chain.

Room Tip: I had an upgrade to Executive room which had a great bathroom ...

I stayed last weekend for two nights. This hotel met my expectations! It is a great hotel, rooms are beautiful and spacious. The location is very convenient, only 3 minutes walk from Westminster abbey and 'Big Ben'. Really easy to reach all tourist attractions as well by metro or city bus.
Concierge and Front Office staff very polite and helpful.

All in all I had a great stay!

The Intercontinental has become my hotel of choice in London, provided the rates are reasonable, as on certain dates even the lowest rooms can be several hundreds of pounds and then I might look for a better deal elsewhere. The staff at the hotel are great, the concierge and door team are always helpful and smiling and I've always been warmly welcomed on check-in.

The rooms are a decent size and very well equipped. The beds and bedding are amazing and have a real luxury feel. The bathrooms are big and very tasteful, although the sliding door can be quite heavy. Cleanliness is always of the highest order.

I've eaten at the Smokehouse a couple of times and the food was decent, although I note the food has now changed and the new menu didn't really appeal to me so I haven't tasted the new food offering. Have had room service on one occasion and it was fairly average.

All in all though a really great hotel in a very good location with even better staff.

We stayed here for the Born Free Foundation 30th anniversary. The staff were excellent and the room very clean. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from an underground station. The buffet breakfast has a wide selection and is delicious!

Came here for afternoon tea on a Saturday. Arrived at 16:40 seated and ordered by 16:50 then waited for 25 minutes for sandwiches and scones! Tea and cakes arrived another 20 minutes after the sandwiches were finished! The offer was unlimited champagne ! Well we got two glasses!!!! Not that we wanted bottles of the stuff but glasses were left empty for ages before any more was offered. Overall a managerial failing not the waiting staff who tried their best in the face of overwhelming patrons.
