Is it possible to spend 60 pounds each on tapas and getting out still hungry? Yes, it is. Despite the warm atmosphere, the live guitar music and the photos of toreros and corrida which make you feel in a tapas bar in Madrid there should be no need to charge nearly 6 pounds for three small pieces of bread spread with tomato and sprinkled with oil, shouldn't it? But the do. For a real meal, go somewhere else. Maybe to Spain.

One of three sister restaurants within a block of each other.
This is the most formal but the only one open when we were there on a Monday night. The food and service were excellent but expensive. Had it been open we would have prefered the Cambio de Tercio, next door, which is more tapas oriented

Cute cosy 'not your run of the mill' tapas bar with a good though pricey selection of tapas.
I would recommend the mussels escebe, octopus with pimenton and the venision and pear cooked in Pedro Ximenez (yum!). They also do a good 5 sherry tasting at £12.50, and the cheerful and enthusiastic staff will help you pair your sherry with the appropriate tapas.
Sherry lover or not, make sure to order the Pedro Ximenez ice cream - dreamy creamy heaven.

The staff are helpful with selecting dishes and the atmosphere is very warm. Everything is overpriced so make sure you are prepared as the bill will be higher than you would think

A great tapas bar with great food and lovely staff who were very knowledgable. We really enjoyed the sherry flight with our tapas - 5 different sherries from dry to sweet to explore with our meal! Loved it!
