I've wanted to go to an ed's for months. I saw them on The Restaurant Man on TV. We went to London to see Tour DE France so thought we'd treat ourselves.
The welcome was great, the atmosphere was great, the place was clean, staff polite and helpful.
The food however is expensive. 10.65 I think it was for a burger , 12 chips, 6 onion rings and a pot of coleslaw. If you can count the chips in one glance then there's not enough of them. The bun is small, dry on top. Feels and tastes like it's been toasted on top. Not very nice. The Burger is equally small. Thick but small. Like a big mac. It had bit of bone in it. Nice rough texture though. Nice flavour. Hard pickle, mushy tomato, and lettuce.
The chips were nice, the onion rings didn't really taste of onion, they mostly tasted of batter. Both went cold incredibly quickly. Far too quickly to have even eaten half of them before the enjoyment was effected.
We wasn't asked if the food was okay. Food would have been average if it had been hot, cold food is poor food.

Overall I'd say they're over priced, over rated and over here.

Ate here today for the first time. Knew it would be busy as it was right outside Euston station, but all of the tables were full outside (on a Monday lunchtime). Managed to get a table inside which was nice though as you then get table service. I ordered the chicken burger with chips and a chocolate and oreo milkshake. The milkshake was delicious! They're a bit pricey but you get around 2 and a half glasses so that's good. The food was nice too, chips were perfectly cooked and chicken was lovely. Food came out very quickly, but didn't feel rushed to finish the meal, it was a nice and easy service. My brother ordered a 'plain cheeseburger' and was even offered a choice of cheeses. So it was nice that they went out of their way to take an order not on the menu. Think the venue needs to be a bit bigger! It was busy but we didn't have to queue for long and the food was worth it. Would certainly recommend for a nice american diner type meal.

Had a breakfast meeting there this morning. They claim to do a veggie breakfast, but to be honest it was limited - pancake stack or a veggie cooked breakfast. I opted for the cooked breakfast, I didn't opt for toast (for 6.95 i expect a slice to be included!)

The sausages were vegetable, not quorn or similar. They were brown on the outside, but some of the thicker veg inside, notabley the carrot were still cold (frozen). Eggs were ok, mushrooms cold as were the baked beans. I told the waitress who said sorry and walked away. No effort made to offer a 'reheating' even.

My colleague seemed to enjoy his meatfeast. But if you are a Veggie - avoid at all costs!
