Airways Hotel Victoria London
Ranked #42 of 579 London B&B and Inns
Reviewed 4 January 2014

The Hotel was centrally based and looked very good from the outside, the Reception was very modern and well presented. From this point on the Hotel looked tired and was in need of a good clean and painting. The rooms were below average size for a triple room and you had to back into the bathroom ( i am not a big person) my daughter found it tiny too. The Hotel is not suitable for elderly people or the less able bodied as there are no lifts. The Breakfast on offer is continental and appears to be very chaotic, the layout is bizarre basically its one in for food when there is one out.

everything was perfect except the fact that I have doubt whether sheets have been changed in my room since they were dirty. Cleanliness is a major issue, since hotel is nice, central and service is good, if cleanliness is up to standard hotel would be perfect.

We were there at the end of August. We had booked our room two months in advance using Booking.com, whose opinions were quite good (???).
Our rooms were two small ratholes under the roof, on the 4th floor (no lift! and the staff didn't even help us carry our luggage), carpet was very dirty everywhere and bathrooms were very small and old. In my mother-in-law's bedroom there was a bad smell, she washed her hands and the water couldn't go down. In our bedroom one of the bed was just like a camp bed and the double bed didn't look much better. We asked for a room change but they said they couldn't give us another room. Staff was very rude. We went away and they charged us the first night. It's a shame!

Stayed here for a night in December and l would say it was below standard.

Pros
Location - close to Victoria metro
Helpful staff

Cons
Linen look like they were not washed
No hand towel the bathroom. There was only one bath towel
Very small bathroom with poor lighting

Luckily I stayed for only a night.

Nice hotel located only few minuites walk from Victoria station. Location is great, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. All facilities are in place, the room was very nice and quiet. Prices are also very attractive, this is really value for money!

Room Tip: Great location!

Have you never been to Airways Hotel Victoria. Just TRY it. The hotel is perfect. The services is great. Everybody is so nice and helpfull. I have been here now 6 times, and I will come back again next year. I also recomend the hotel to others. I simply get the feeling to come home. You hear many bad things about hotels in London, but this one I can only recomend. The location is good very near to Victoria Station. It is a quiet and nice aria where you can walk to a lot of things. From the very first time in the hotel, I felt at home even thoug they were painting and restoring the building. Now it is beautiful and comfortable and they have got very nice beds.

Room Tip: Just perfect...

My spouse and I reserved 6+ weeks ahead a room for 2 adults for 2 nights. We checked in late afternoon, signing the credit card charge for required advance payment in full for the 2 nights. Once paid, we were informed there was no vacant room for 2 adults so we would be put in a room that sleeps 4. We knew that would be really cramped but shrugged it off. Then we were told we'd have this room for the first night only; and that we needed to have our belongings packed up in the morning and would need to turn in our room key in the morning. The hotel had guests arriving that second night who would need the room that sleeps 4. We would be put in another room, but it would not be ready until an unknown time later on the second day. We explained that we did not come to London for 2 nights and only 1 full day to unpack, repack, be without a room at all, and move rooms. We got nowhere and there is no manager or person with any authority to speak to. The staff did not understand or care that the issue was more about not having a room to come back to and having to repack than it was the actual move to a new room. They seemed to believe that because they would roll our luggage down the hall that there was no impact on us.
On the morning after our second (and final) night, we were up very early on a tight schedule to get our tour bus. Surprise: Only cold water in the shower. So, no showers for us. An employee came to the room promptly but was unable to get the hot water working until a few minutes before we had to dash out to catch our tour bus/transfer. We again were not able to speak to a manager or get a contact name. You get a card with a generic email address.
Beware: breakfast is not served until 7:30 AM, too late for us due to the tour bus pick up.
This is a strange place that I plan to never revisit.

Room Tip: First night room faced the back and was much quieter. And that was good because it was warm and we...
