There are a dozen pubs within a stones thow of London Bridge and the beers here are well kept, the pub busy, the staff friendly and probably a better chance of getting served early evening when the office workers head for home than some of the ones in the market. Nothing exceptional. The description on Tripadvisor confuses this place with a pub of the same name in Kensington / Knightsbridge.

My friend and I had been to the Bunch of Grapes the last time that we went to the Albert Hall and had a fabulous graze on a load of interesting starters and some good, reasonably priced wine. It was so good that we went back last week for some more of the same to find that the menu had changed and was now very dull, with only a few sharing plates on offer instead of lots of nibbly starters. We didn't have time to go anywhere else so we had two sharing plates, neither of which was quite enough for one, let alone sharing!!

My friend complained to two separate waitresses, both of whom said that head office had changed the menu and that was that. Neither bothered to get a manager over, so we were left very disappointed and unsatisfied.

It's such a shame, but the moral is go for a pint. Don't go for the food!

Food at The Bunch of Grapes has never been Michelin Star but used to be a nice little place to have a good Sunday roast. However it has been on the slide for a while now and after just returning from our last ever visit it's obvious that they've just given up on their food now. The roast beef now consists of 2 very small slices of beef which is 50% fat, vegetables that have been dipped in hot water and Aunt Bessie takes care of the rest. It's always been over priced but the food used to JUST make up for that, that's no longer the case. With such a huge choice of restaurants in the Borough area this place now falls way short, we won't be returning and I advise others to look elsewhere.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE TO EAT EVEN IF YOU HAVE BEEN STARVING IN THE DESERT FOR 40 DAYS. My husband and I were hungry after a day of sight-seeing, and we decided to try this place, as it was near our hotel. There were a lot of people in the pub area, but no one in the dining area (we should have got the message). My husband ordered " beef wellington" med rare......what he got literally 5 minutes later was a hockey puck- sized piece of beef that was overdone (probably cooked days ago). I ordered penne chicken....which was a plate of pasta with sauce from a jar and the pieces of chicken were like cardboard. We laughed so hard until the bill came, which was absolutely ridiculous for the disgusting sh## they called "food". Never, Never again. Stay far, far away.

This is a pleasantly decorated pub in which you receive a nice welcome by the staff. It does have a small amount of outdoor space, which is important in the summer in central london.
The drink is a pleasant enough selection.
The food on the other hand was a little bit of a disappointment. The pub was reasonably busy but the wait time on the lunch menu was 40 mins which meant that trying to fit it in during a lunch break was nearly impossible. The sausage sandwich (can't remember the exact price) was upwards of £4.50 and was certainly nothing special.
Will give the place another go as I imagine it is usually of a slightly higher standard, but on this occasion it was a little disappointing.
