“Good evening with friends ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

Went to the dog racing as good prices tickets on Groupon ,
Not my scene really but made a change from the norm,
Good points
Good evening with friends ,

Bad points
On arriving cat park is Poor
Poor lighting and full of pot holes ,
Inside not much better unfortunately ,
Very run down ,
Not knowing the betting system I asked at the desk ,
Not polite or helpful
I'm thinking they expect everyone to know how it works,
Seating is poor
Old and run down
Lighting is poor
Food was ok
Overpriced drinks
No real notice board outside so if you didn't hear the winners you had to go back inside ,
Overall it was a real shame
Looks like the whole stadium should've been pulled down a long time ago,

“Very disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Arrived at venue, car park entrance not very well signposted. Car park poorly lit, full of potholes. We had never been here before and had trackside package. This was good value at £10 pp which included entry, race card, burger, drink, £2 tote bet and £6 return voucher. However, the night deteriorated from there. We went trackside, no seating available unless you wanted to sit on a bend or concrete steps. Most of the seats were broken, in groups of between 2-5 seats, so our party wouldn't have been able to all sit together anyway, unless some either stood or sat on the steps, view was blocked by the side of the restaurant, steps leading up to it, or pillars. You could sit in the area where you bought food & drink, but there was no view of the track from there. You were only allowed into the restaurant if you had prebooked (£20 pp),
Poor choice of food trackside. Burger, cheeseburger, hotdog, chicken nuggets, chips was the selection available @ £7.95 meal deal or, £5.95 for kids. Regular drinks were £2.30. Staff were great, especially Sharon.
One race was voided due to someone jumping onto the track just before the finish line, despite security! Easy bet machines made placing your bets simple, but wherever you placed your bet it was a £2 minimum stake. Maybe I'm being a bit thick but should you not be allowed to choose how much you want to wager? There were 13 races, so ended up only betting on a few.
Stadium was very rundown, not child friendly, atmosphere was awful.
Definitely would not return.

“Dogs and banger racing - better get it before its gone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

What an experience, get up close to the dog and banger car racing. A fun night out with the boys, very average food and awful beer but I guess that's what makes the experience. Can bet on the dogs but not the cars, some interesting characters about. Better get in there soon before they redevelop the site into a football stadium, boo!

“Half hearted attempt at running a dog track”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

I enjoy greyhound racing and have been to several tracks, but Wimbledon is by far the worst. Very, very run down stadium, both inside and out...to compound matters my friend backed a dog that won and was priced at 8/1 when race went off...he was paid out at 7/2 ...I had the forecast in the same race ...an 8/1 and a 12/1 which paid £120 off track..I was paid just under £40....we both felt like we'd been mugged!!! In summary you can have a good evening, but Romford stadium is much better...if you must go Wimbledon I would recommend that you put your bets on with a bookmaker before you reach the track as you will get much better value

“Should be great but needs improvement- dont take small toddlers”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

Firstly the staff were very busy in the restaurant and it was very hot but our waitresses worked hard and were very helpful - food quite good but £27 for 3 course pub food was pretty steep

The biggest problem was the races promoted as child friendly - under 2 free - kids menu - lovely baby change room but no buggys allowed in restaurant ( but wheelchair ok ???) and no highchairs

Try keeping a 15 month old amused in a hot restaurant on a bench seat - we just let her run about to prove that this is more of a health and safety issue than her asleep in her buggy !!
