tasty sandwich! the salt beef was well done!
the classic pickled cucumber was also a good match with the sandwich.
a bit pricey but worth it.

Bit expensive as a large sandwich will set you back £12.25---a lot of money for what is in effect a self service salt beef and snack bar. However once you taste the sandwich then all is forgiven. I went there mid February 2014 and in effect for a sandwich, a cup of tea and a couple of extras I paid nearly £18.

However the best I have had and the tongue is IMHO even better. If you like salt beef and tongue and don't mind paying then not to be missed. Beats all the "plastic" chain restaurants hands down.Give me this over say the likes of Pizza Express, Prezzo et all every time.

popped in at ten o clock, when it first opened, always find this best , we had two full salt beef sandwich with English mustard and pickles, hot and fresh , with two coffees, £24 bit pricy, but I say you pay for what you get , and this was worth it . you cant beat great salt beef and this was great salt beef,

The brass rail is a consistently delicious lunchtime pilgrimage on every trip to England. After years of my standard saltbeef on rye, I pushed the boat out today and tried the saltbeef and pastrami mixed. Now I have a quandry moving forwards; plain salt beef or mixed :-) The cloudy apple juice is greatwash down with.

I had been here before, in December but only had one of the cold pre made sandwiches but decided to go for the hot on white bread, excellently slow cooked beef that melts in your mouth with traditional English mustard, a pickle and a lemonade for 2 people came to 30 quid, but it was something different to try and I will definitely go back!
