“Great Breakfast, basic rooms, smelly halls”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2012

This is a cheap and basic hotel.
The bathrooms are down the hall, some have been renovated, others not. Choose wisely as some of the showers don't work.
The breakfast was the best thing about the place, buffet hot and cold choices.
The rooms are small and basic, but adequate and have a TV.
But the corridor to my room smelt of urine, this is enough to put anyone off.
If you're looking for cheap accommodation, it's OK.

Please, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. I can't say enough how much staying here was an upsetting experience.

This is THE WORST AND MOST DEPRESSING place I have ever had the misfortune of staying at. I was not comfortable going to the bathroom at night to the the shared facilities where questionable looking characters sometimes lurked in hallways. You could hear everything in other rooms and doors were slamming all night long. I gave up showering and took to bird baths in the room after unsightly dark hair clumps in the shared showers remained for a few days and I realised the showers must not get cleaned. Toilets were often not flushed and often broken...yes...it was as disgusting as it sounds. It is in a terrible neighbourhood also with no restaurants nearby that are worth going to. You will have to travel out of the area to do anything.

There are moths/little bugs everywhere which get in your clothes.

The staff were terrible, unfriendly and unhelpful. The "breakfast" was pathetic and the staff in the dining area rude and again, unfriendly and unwelcoming. There are much better places to stay in London for a similar price in better areas. There is nothing in this area worth staying near. Being near to St Pancras international is no reason to stay here as you can get to it easy enough on the tube or by taxi. You would be better going to the Oxford YHA if you are on a budget. The Oxford YHA is modern, new, spotless and in a great location. Piccadilly Backpackers is another cheap option...not the greatest place to stay but it is honestly better than the County "Hotel".

have said this before excellent location for all the transpo0rt sevices good choice at breakfast and a decent meal in the evening if required.value for money at £59 for a twin room. not en-suite so you know that before you book.bathroom and toilet only a couple of doors away.if you want luxury go and pay silly money elsewhere but the county is superb value for money always stay here when visiting london which is about every 2 months.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room. although never had a problem with noise.

I came across a bargain five nights for the price of four on an internet booking website and thought for the price including Full Cooked breakfast I would give it a shot.

I would say that if you are not well travelled or don't mind sharing a bathroom then this place is probably not for you.

The hotel is five minutes walk from Euston station, is covered in scaffolding at the moment so it is easy to walk past it, once you get in it's fine.

Check in was super fast, you collect your key from the Hall Porter (and deposit it when you go out) and there is a lift to all floors. On exiting the lift, I immediately was reminded of my former Unviersity Halls of Residence, almost a carbon copy in fact.

The single room I had was pretty much like the pictures already taken by others, not overly big but big and warm enough. There is a sink and a TV. At first I thought the TV was broken as I couldn't turn it on, although after around five minutes I figured it out, it is hard wired to a light switch by the bed so you have to switch it on there first - rather funny actually but it goes with the quirkiness of the place.

The room was spottlessly clean, the bedding was changed every second day. The bathrooms and WC were literally next door and were kept clean, even at night when I returned late they seemed as though they had been given a once over.

I didn't experience much of an issue with banging doors, it happened occasionally but I think it's just because people to forgot to close them quietly. As for the comments about cleaners in your room, I can't understand how or why that would happen as you can lock your room easily from inside and they have Do Not Disturb notices so the previous writer must have been a little absent minded not to use either.

There is a bar next to reception and the prices are so cheap. £2.20 for a pint of Lager in Central London is almost too good too be true, but it is. I tried their food and again, it was excellent and cheap. Almost student prices. There seemed to be a lot of workers using the bar and eating so this seems to be their mainstay custom.

Breakfast was served in the basement, again remeniscent of my University days, the staff whilst monosylabic were attentive. there was a wide selection of cooked and continental stuff and all included in the cheap rate.

I certainly would have no hesitation staying here again and as I said if you can live with shared bathrooms then go for it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as it has no traffic noise.

I would like to corroborate the views of milesnewton85.

Will certainly stay there again on my next visit to London.

Just spent 2 nights in this hotel, the highest accolade i can give it, is that id stay again! Me and a couple of mates got 3 single rooms, with breakfast for £45. Euston itself isnt exactly the party scene of London, but the hotel is no more than 5 minutes walk from the tube.

Everything we wanted to do the whole weekend only took max 15 minutes on the tube max, night clubs (Reflex at Mansion house station unreal!) food and entertainment! The rooms where spotless, the bathrooms/toilet where no more than 5 steps away from our rooms. The staff were unbelievably helpful during our stay, the porters were there 24 hours, so no problems collect our room keys at all hours! If you can, get a rear facing room, you can barely hear the traffic from the main road.

If u want a couple of cheap nights in London, go to this place it ticks all the boxes! (Also its only £2.20 a pint at the hotel bar, which is by far the cheapest we paid all weekend!)

The rooms and service ok, excellent location, everything in the hotel could be find in the museum.
Big problems with housekeeping. They don't understand 'late checking' and U can find a housekeeper in Your room while U still in bed (sic!)
And...Don't leave anything behind..U never gona get this back-fact!
