Read some off the comments and cannot beleive that people pay £62 for a double room with breakfast in London and whinge about it. It is a budget hotel and does not pretend to be anything else. Shower and Toilets have been updated this year you have a good choice at breakfast the staff are usually very helpful we arrived early to book in were told by receptionist we would have to wait half hour to book in her assistant took it on herself and we had a room within 5mins.Slept very well with 2 pillows provided usually have to ask when staying in other hotels for extra pillows.5 mins walk to Euston 10 mins to Kings X/ St Pancras so handy for transport links. Will be back early next year.

I was a lone traveler on a budget. Needed a cheap hotel close to Euston for a very early train and did not want a shared room.
The room wasn't luxurious (you can get luxury for 4 times + the price next door or across the road), but I would suggest a room at the back as it was quite loud from the traffic at my room at the front.
Clean, and secure, and so for the 6 hours I was in there I have no complaints. Less than 5 mins walk to Euston.
For such a low price, I wasn't expecting any amenities, but each room had a tv, kettle, sink and clean towels.
Bathrooms clean and look recently renovated.
Read the website, if you are happy with what you see, you can't be disappointed. But if you expect anything more than budget accommodation for so little money, go elsewhere.

Hotel was dirty and shabby - at best. Staff surly, incompetent (I booked online for 2 nights, but booked each night seperately as my travel plans changed, and they had difficulty figuring this out) and difficult to understand / have difficulty understanding you.

The room keys were attached to the end of long, metal rods (which presumably was an anti-theft measure ) and had to be deposited/retrieved from reception each and every time you left the hotel or went down for what could cautiously be described as "a meal" (more on this later), which was a hassle to say the least. Rooms have seen better days and reek of the ingrained scent of cloying, musty perfume (possibly to disguise unwelcome odours). The "staff" hammer on the door before 10am, even when you've booked for a couple of nights (they do however respond to crossness!)

"Breakfast" was "le plat pricipal" of the whole shabby ordeal - monosyllabic waiters grunting/pointing you to your seat, telling you off for putting your plates on a tray (there are no trays for use by diners) and clearing up your cups/spoons when you have merely left your table to get some cornflakes. They have a hot-plate buffet serving cooked breakfast items but the plates allocated are the size of saucers (I jest not) !

On the plus side, it's close to Euston station, cheap, I didn't see any bugs and wasn't physically assaulted. It's as if the staff had all attended the 'Manuel Academy of excellence', or something like that ...

At under £50 ppn, it's a bit of a treasure. Easy walking distance from Brit Museum, Kings X, Euston & a thousand options in centre of London. Not luxury, not elegant, not even very friendly, but does what it says on the tin: a bargain doss and a filling breakfast just where you need to be. Guests tend to be foreign, rather than Brits, though last time I stayed I found myself breakfasting with a bunch of UK Marxists who were there for a conference, all keen to complete my education. Quite exotic!

I chose the county hotel because I wanted a great location at a small price.. the rooms are very very old and smell funny, they look mostly clean, but I don't want to look under the bed... furniture is completely worn out.. the shared bathrooms are renovated and clean, staff is nice and helpful... for that kind of price, you can't expect anything more... for sleeping it's ok, if you look for a nice hotel to spend time at, choose another place...

I stay here several times a year. Very basic. Bed telly kettle! What else do you need if you are out all day and evening? Breakfast is fine, small plates, but you can go for more if you want. I'll be back at the new year again this year! If you want posher go to any of the other imperial hotels, I'd recommend Traviscott where you get on suits and porrage at breakfast!
