The lunch is great, been there hundreds of times. Everything is made to order. Everything is fresh. Great value for money and family run business. If you like watching Italian football, this is the place to do it - they have four huge screens and the whole street becomes overflowing with 100s of Italian spectators (I avoid it in the evenings, but football isn't shown at lunchtime)

This place does one of the best coffees in town, always very busy with media types at lunch time, taking advantage of their freshly made Italian sandwiches. During the afternoon there are local italians sitting around drinking coffee along with a steady stream of cab drivers popping in for a break.
This place is also very popular with Italian football fans, with live games being shown most nights of the week.
Decor is abit shabby and the tables and chairs are a little cramped and dated. During the warmer months it's nice to sit out the front at the quieter end of Charlotte st and just watch the world go by!

I was looking for a place for lunch, nothing fancy, just a bit to eat. I happened upon Italia Uno. From the outside it was not a lot to look at, but there were a few tables on the sidewalk and tables inside. It was a local Italian deli, with made to order sandwiches and a classic coffee machine. I watched for a while to see the flux of patrons. A cab driver pulled up, hopped out and went in. He ordered a sandwich; locals speak Italian here and many patrons knew the man making sandwiches. So, join the locals. I ordered a simple sandwich with Italian ham, a bit of salad (on the sandwich), a little oil. It came with great fresh-baked bread with a nice crust. I ordered a latte, which was superb. There are other deli items in the case - marinated this and that, etc. There is also a TV, which when I visited was tuned quietly to soccer. Patrons were reading newspapers and in general enjoying the place. There was a steady stream of customers. I walked by a few days later and again there was a short line and patrons in place. All in all, this is a very good local place to find a good quick lunch and enjoy the local color. I will certainly have lunch there again on my next visit. [Take out is also available and a little bit (about 10 percent) cheaper than eating-in.]
