My husband and I are avid travelers. We are used to first class service and also designer boutique hotels. When my brother mentioned a holiday inn around the corner from his house on a recent visit we cringed… but being that it was such a good price and close to his house we decided to book. What a surprise and a treat it was… First of all and most important for me, it was spotless! So clean, no cigarette smell, no dirty carpet and super clean rooms. The fact that it's only a couple years old is definitely the reason for that. But secondly, the staff were so accommodating and friendly. They not only moved clients around to accommodate us and our daughter but gave us a very nice discount from the listed price online!
The room was bright, light colored, modern and very quiet.. They even had a pillow menu… I told my brother to book all his visitors there as it was the best hotel experience in Europe I had had in a long time… especially London. Another perk!… 3 minute walk to DLR line that goes everywhere……Oh yeah, and they serve Starbucks coffee and have a pancake machine for the breakfast! ….. Ok, they also make nice cocktails at the lively bar!!! One more detail, we were there early March, so out of tourist season… And even then it was lively and booked!

Really impressive stay i had in Holiday inn commercial road, its new hotel very clean and the stuff are very friendly & helpful, the room is big size, only the hotel is little far from London attractions but its just few min. walking to reach Whitechabel underground station and in 15 min. you can reach to London eye, also there is a bus station just in front the hotel.

We stayed here for three nights over the weekend in March and thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

The hotel is conveniently situated and is easily accessible by the DLR & Overground from Shadwell station which is across the street and through the market. It is also a short walk from Whitechapel which is on the Hammersmith & District lines whilst the number 15 bus runs to Trafalgar Sq every few minutes 24/7.

Arriving early on the Friday afternoon a friendly welcome was offered and we were checked in very quickly. We had been allocated a room on the top floor which had a view of Canary Wharf in the distance.

The room itself was very clean and well maintained. The hotel is approximately two years old and is still in excellent condition with no visible maintenance or housekeeping issues. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well each night whilst there were no disturbances internally or externally. A good sized flat screen television is also in the room with a very good picture/signal. The wifi was complimentary and was fast enough to view webpages etc. in the wardrobe an ironing board, iron and hairdryer were all available along with an in-room safe and a mini fridge.

The room temperature is maintained via the air-con unit and it is not possible to open the windows.

The bathroom was also very clean and well appointed the usual toiletries available along with fresh, clean towels. The shower is situated above the bath and is powerful with plenty of hot water available. The room was serviced each morning with fresh towels etc supplied if required.

We had booked breakfast which was very nice with an excellent choice available on the buffet. The only issue we noted during the stay was that we felt the catering team could have benefited from an additional member of staff on duty on the Sunday morning (the busiest of the three mornings for breakfast) as the staff on duty appeared to be rushing to get everything done due to it being busy. Other than this the breakfast was very nice and it lives up to the 'Award winning' choice that is advertised.

We also ate in the restaurant on the first evening and again felt that there was a good choice of dishes on the menu which focuses on British cuisine. At weekends they also have a promotion running which is BOGOF on main courses. Both the staff members on duty in the evening were friendly and chatted with us about our plans for the weekend and also about our hometown.

Checking out on the Monday was again quick and hassle free whilst we were wished a safe journey home when leaving.

Overall we really enjoyed the visit to Commercial Road and will definitely be back as it was very conveniently located for us with Bank & Canary Wharf less than ten minutes away on the DLR and Shoreditch the same on the Overground for nightlife and Brick Lane Market in Sundays.

Got this hotel through Hotwire last minute and paid only £175 for a Friday and Saturday night combined. A few comments suggested that the location was poor however it's simply a 5-10 minute walk from Whitechaple and 10 minute walk from Aldgate East Underground. We arrived into London from Kings Cross and the journey to Whitechaple was very straight forward.

Hotel was unbelievable really. Brand new, clean and very spacious. Upon arrival we were upgraded to an executive room which is very nice. Free wifi standard.

We went to the well known Brick Lane for an Indian meal which is only around 15 minutes walk - a fantastic experience and market also.

We walked to Tower Bridge and it's a steady 15 minute walk. Really simple to navigate too, head toward the city skyline! Located in Whitechaple which looks to be an up and coming area. All felt very safe.

I visit london frequently, usually business but if I were to come again this hotel would be a definite - providing the prices remain low which I suspect they won't!

As a chain I didn't have overalls high expectations for this hotel however I was pleasantly surprised.

The hotel was clean, sleek and modern with very friendly staff.

The rooms were nicely decorated and clean with plenty of space. The bathrooms were well designed and faultless.

This elevators in the hotel were quite slow and the buffet breakfast was empty upon arrival although I was early down.

The location of the hotel was perfect for my needs however should you wish to stay more in the heart of London this probably isn't the most ideal location. I took a train, several tubes and another train to reach the hotel.

Easy check in with friendly staff, easy to find within easy walking distance of Algate East or Whitechaple Tube (although Whitechapel wasnt working during the weekend because of engineering work). The room was large and spacious with a sleek design, impressive for their standard room although their were a few marks and chips off things like the door you expect these in heavily used hotels. I admit im a light sleeper so the noise of the hotel did wake me a few times, walls didnt seem the thickest but thought a new hotel may have been able to cancel these out. Very good stay though and i would return.

Didn't really know what to expect prior to arriving, but was pleasantly surprised. The staff was warm and very accommodating. The room was exactly what we wanted it to be. Good size space, and the bathroom was perfect. Lovely shower - although the short shower doors were a little bizarre. The breakfast was really good, and I would definitely recommend that. Everything seemed quite new and clean. The location was perfect - less than 10 minutes into central London via the DLR. Would probably gravitate to stay here if traveling to London in the future.

Room Tip: Make sure that you specify for a non-smoking room if that's your preference. Get breakfast added...
