“Good place to stay!”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

Due to other hotels near st pancras being full, this hotel was a 20 minute walk from euro star. Family room booked, excellent service, regretted eating out at waggamamas, cold food, un happy , not interested staff, busy talking and eating on another table. Been to other waggamamas , excellent. This one, poor food poor service, no smiles. Premier good, clean and friendly staff, family room at the back of a night club, if you like clubbing , music is free, not fun for children who have to get up at 5 am to get the euro star. Staff very apologetic. Overall excellent stay, highly recommend but not a back room next to a night club.

We stayed here as a family group of 6 including 2 young children for 2 nights. We had booked on the internet some time ahead. We choose this particular hotel because of the rate being slightly less than other more central located Premier Inn hotels. It is slightly out of the centre of London, but near the Angel Tube station. This is on the Northern Line, Bank Branch and requires a change to another line to reach any of the main tourist places. The hotel is situated behind a shopping centre (car parking nearby is £18 or £23) and the street immediately outside is quiet. We arrived at 1100 on a Sunday morning and they took our bags with the minimum of fuss. We checked in at about 2100, and again this was handled well.
The reception area is small but opens on to a bar area with comfy seats, a waiting area with a few seats and internet access. There is a vending machine with snacks and drinks. Access to the upper floors is controlled by your key card.
Our rooms were ready, and the family room had been well provided with the children’s beds. On arrival the rooms were clean and the linen was clean and the beds were comfy. Lighting levels were fine. Black out was good and we all slept well. The air conditioning is efficient. The showers were hot and there were ample towels. The hospitality tray is sparse but extra supplies are available from reception, where automatic check in is available. In the afternoon, water is available from the Reception desk.
This was the best buffet breakfast I have ever had in a Premier Inn – excellent fruit offering, very good hot buffet, lovely porridge (special order) and delicious croissants although fruit juices and hot drinks were a bit weak and tasteless.
All in all this was a good stay, but there was no electric shaver point in the room. And the ‘wooden’ floors in the restaurant area are very ‘sticky’ as though they are greasy and unclean – I don’t think they were but that wasn’t a nice experience. The windows are alarmed and give off an alarm if you get to break the laser beam. We dined here on our second night – a bit of a disaster. Food was excellent, really excellent, but the service was terrible, 20 minute wait for drinks, 30 minutes for the main course and 30 minutes plus for sweets which we only got after a confrontation with one of the staff. Strange at breakfast they were overstaffed but at Dinner understaffed. I think this really ruined my impression of what was a good hotel.
Our scores (out of 10): Location 8; Car Parking 7; Accessibility 7; Reception/Check Out 9; Size of Room 9; Facilities in Room 7; Facilities 7; Hotel Decor 9; Service 6; Value for Money 9.

Very friendly and efficient staff.
Nothing too much trouble and they genuinely seemed to care about whether we had enjoyed our stay.
Paul, lovely with the kids staying in the hotel.
Would definitely recommend staying here.
Angel tube station 5 mins walk away, easy to get into central London.
Brilliant.

Great welcome, service and standard of room as per P.Inn. Great location - perfect for exploring the multitude of pubs / eateries & other facilities within easy walking distance in Islington.
Fine staff who attended to every need & great start to every day with legendary breakfast.
Would definitely recommend. (Very well placed for Emirates Stadium with easy Tube access to Central London. Angel tube station barely easy 5 min walk from hotel.)

This location is off of the beaten path for tourists, but a brilliant place to stay. The location is hip, young, and international with an incredible selection of restaurants, bakeries, cafes, bars, pubs, and shopping. Wish we could live there!

The hotel is perhaps hard to find the first time, but well worth the trouble. It is well connected via Angel station, and Kings Cross is a pleasant walk away, too. It is new, and shows it its great condition. The management is excellent, with all staff smiling, well trained, kind, and helpful. This is a great place for families, individuals, or anyone.

Had a lovely stay great situation right next to Angel Tube station, friendly staff except for a very loud tense shouty manager who was intimidating and he was only there or 2 days out of our week. No toilet brush in loos...and only 2 times was our room cleaned. Poor service when we booked a table for 8 (fair warning) one meal was served after we had fi ished! And soup had hair in it..Manager ne t day doubted me when he said "thats funny both our chefs are bald!!!" Can you believe it!?? Some noise weekend nights as 02 venue ne t to us..but was ok. I tsrconne ti g doors great but would like a key too.
