“Great Staff, Accommodating Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014

Arrived in London dead tired after 30 hours of flying.
Staff, sat us down, got us a coffee and had a room ready for us by 9.00 am - normal check in time is 2.00 pm. We expected to have to leave our luggage and walk around until 2.00 - but know they did everything to get us in our room early. They also ensured we got a good nights sleep - choice of pillows, quiet rooms. So everything was perfect for this 3 day stay.

Room Tip: 3rd and 4th floors avoid any street noise at night.

Room is spacious for 4 of us. We have one double bed and 2 single beds putting together. Beds are comfortable. Air-con works well. Good breakfast with more choices will be prefect. Very close to tube. Has 3 large supermarkets and Chapel market nearby.

Family room normal although the bathroom was larger than we are used to in Premierinn country. Brilliant position near the Angel tube and on a direct bus route to Euston. On arrival the staff were very welcoming. Very clean in all public areas. I can't comment on the dining as we ate out both nights, but the Thyme menu generally has something to please most people. Difficult to know why you wouls choose to eat in at night when London's famous names and chains are on your doorstep, Bill's, Jamie's and Carluccio's to name a few. Neither did we dine in for breakfast, but, again, why would you when you are in London and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. There is a Waitrose just around the corner which was excellent and Upper street is packed with places like Starbucks and Costa Coffee. As previous people have said the hotel is situated in the heart of Islington with its theatres and places of interest. We stayed there because it is near our friends in Highbury, but it was also well situated for other attractions because of the Tube and bus links. We left our luggage in the secure lock up on our last day so that we could meander freely around the shops. We went back to the Premierinn and waited in the foyer for nearly an hour and then the kind receptionist phoned for a taxi for us, which was only £12 for three people and baggage - mind you it wasn't a black cab - price is given at the time of booking. I did get the feeling with the Reception staff here that they would do anything to help you. I even saw a receptionist show a chap round who was looking for a place for relatives but wanted toe actually see a room. When you've seen one Premierinn room you've nearly seen them allthough ;)

Room Tip: Wifi is free for 30 minutes in all P'Inns

Located excellently for trips to London attractions and theatres. 5 mins walk to nearest tube. Staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast good value, kids eat free. Family rooms a little squashed, no space between beds. Room has everything you need, hot drink facilities, hair dryer, soap and shower gel included. Would definitely stay here again if visiting London.

Sure, this is a Premier Inn so you don't expect personal touches or individuality. However, it really does the job and then some.
The hotel is well appointed in a great area - close to tube station where it took us about 20 mins to get into Central London. In the area there are a host of restaurants and shops. Everyone is within walking distance.
The service was great and the rooms were well equipped and clean. Good night's sleep had by all.
Recommend!

I booked this hotel based on the recommendation of an English friend and the fact that it was about half the price of other hotels in London and had family rooms. Because it was so much less, I was not expecting much, but the room was very well laid out, immaculately clean, and the staff were welcoming and understood customer service implicitly. The restaurant is very good and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Oh, and kids eat free. I could simply not believe how quiet it was. I have NEVER stayed in a big city hotel this quiet. It was very child friendly as well.

Due to other hotels near st pancras being full, this hotel was a 20 minute walk from euro star. Family room booked, excellent service, regretted eating out at waggamamas, cold food, un happy , not interested staff, busy talking and eating on another table. Been to other waggamamas , excellent. This one, poor food poor service, no smiles. Premier good, clean and friendly staff, family room at the back of a night club, if you like clubbing , music is free, not fun for children who have to get up at 5 am to get the euro star. Staff very apologetic. Overall excellent stay, highly recommend but not a back room next to a night club.
