Really tasty pho soup here, and a favourite of mine for cheap eats with an original setting. Bring your own booze at a charge, and a large back room for around 20 people makes this please an ideal spot for a birthday or celebration. Really good fish dishes served whole.

“Fantastic food, mixed service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2013

Incredible fresh rolls + phö soup with shrimp.
We'll return for the food. It's inexpensive.
Very young, hip place.
The ONE thing we didn't like:
the young man at the head of the restaurant is really stressed out.
If he improved his attitude, this place would deserve 5*, no problem.
By the way, it's a great choice if you plan to go to a concert at Café Oto afterwards...

“the best authentic vietnamese food in London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2012

Not easy to reach as there is no tube station but overground Dalston..so easier for Hackney crew.It is always full so booking is recommended .It is quite cold inside but once you are there the food is worth it. It is better to drink beer as wine are not good. All dishes are just wonderful.Service is nice and quick if you are hungry. It is very cheap too so if you want eat very well and you are not bothered with the noisy atmosphere and cold...Go There!

“Pleasant Surprise !!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2012

We approached Huong viet with not a little trepidation== the entrance does hardly promise a great culinary experience== however the doorstep had been freshly scrubbed and a warm welcome was given to us on entrance== we were luckily in company with friends who has some knowledge of Vietnamese food who ordered a selection of starters and mains to share == I will not attempt to name them sufficient to say each was excellent== well cooked and lightly seasoned and sauced == greatly enjoyed-- now it is a long journey both geographically and culturally from the Scottish Borders to Huong Viet but one which we hope to make again soon !!!

“Canteen style Vietnamese with first rate food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2012 via mobile

Don't expect glitz. This place has basic, 1970s canteen style decor. The food is lovely, though. The £8.50 set lunch is worth having but my husband adores the crispy pomfret with chilli and mango. The pho soup is good too.
