“The apartment was perfect for us.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

As a family of four with two teenage daughters the 2-Bedroom apartment across the street from the hotel was perfect for us. It had plenty of space and the location was an easy walk to the Underground. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Adria on Glenthorne St near the Hammmersmith Underground. The hotel is very clean and on a quiet side street and close to a shopping mall and many restaurant. There are no lifts and we dragged our luggage up and down a narrow stair case. The room and bathrooms are extremely small. I was okay for our overnight stay as we were in transit. London was experiencing a record high and there was no air.

Be aware that there are two hotels with the same name. I checked the reviews on TA and found that the ratings were quite good. Someone did mention the narrow staircase. Other reviews were very good. We found out that there were two Adria when the coach took us to the other Adria after our cruise. Fortunately, we checked out the location of the hotel prior to our cruise so we got to the right one. The reviews of both hotels were under one name so just be aware when you book your hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights at Adria in July and had a great time in London. The Adria is conveniently located with a short walk from Hammersmith Apollo and the Underground station and great local (proper) pub, the Swan. Our room was small and simple but clean and comfortable (but bed very creaky and meant to ask for another pillow). It was a the top of some steep stairs - oh yes they are steep, but hey we need the exercise. Not cheap but then we're in London and the location was very convenient as the main reason we'd booked was to see a show at the Apollo (Jack White).
On 2 nights the occupants in the two neighbouring rooms were ignorant/oblivious of other guests, noisily returning between 3-5am and letting their doors slam! Could do with some door closers fitted to stop that happening.
We didn't stay to have breakfast but it smelled delicious as we could smell it cooking at 7:30am each morning, wish we'd had it now. Had a window in the roof which thankfully opened wide as it's been a hot summer, and a fan was supplied too. Some noisy road works in the area for a short while, but to be expected in capital city. Completely enjoyed our stay and sad to leave.

This hotel is unsuitable for people with limited mobility, as there are no lifts to access the rooms upstairs or in our case, in the basement. The stairs are also very narrow, so it’s not easy carrying up and down the suitcases.
Room was small but clean and tidy. Everything was in working order. There was no air-conditioning though and had to keep the windows open. The walls were also a bit on the thin side, as we could hear the mobile phones ringing in the room next door! In saying that, the bed was comfortable and we slept well.
The bathroom however, had no light switch; instead, it was fitted with a motion sensor that automatically turns on the ventilation and light. The motion sensor broke down on day two, but someone came to fix it quickly. The ventilation is very noisy, so if you use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the noise may wake the other person. Also, the lights go out every few minutes, so you’d have to open the shower door mid-shower to put the light back on.
The good thing about the hotel however, was the breakfast – it was decent and amazingly cheap. 4 quids for a continental breakfast, and 7 for a full English. The girls work damn hard in the kitchen to provide a good breakfast service, which we really appreciated.
Mom and I dispute the standards of service – I thought the people were absolutely marvelous but she complained that the front desk was not able to provide concierge services. It’s purely a difference of opinions but I’d like to point out that for a boutique hotel, it’s pretty damn good and we ought to tailor our expectations to suit the situation.
For tourists travelling on the underground, note that this hotel falls in Zone Two, which means you cross zones as you enter the city for your sightseeing. I paid an exorbitant amount of money to use the underground for the five days I was in London, so take this into consideration. However, it's on the Picadilly line that takes you straight to Heathrow airport.

My wife and I chose this hotel for two nights, using Hammersmith as a base. It was cheaper than the local "chain" hotels and we were not disappointed. The man on reception was pleasant and helpful and our second floor room was fairly small. However, it was very clean, with plenty of storage space, tea, coffee, biscuits and a kettle; bathroom with a hot shower, toiletries, towels and hair dryer. In the room was a safety deposit box and flat screen TV with loads of channels for those who wish to stay in rather than explore the local area. It was only five minutes walk from the station and ten minutes from the river.
We did not try the breakfasts, though there was a choice of Continental or full English for £4 or £8 extra. (We like eating at local cafes while in London).
The weather outside was hot, and so was out room at night, so we slept with the windows fully open. This meant there was a lot of traffic noise - but to be expected being in London.
We would consider staying here again if we need to use Hammersmith as a base.

We stayed in the annexe, which although was clean and big enough for 1 evening, was right next to the underground.
Noise until about 1 am...and then it started up again about 6:30am.
We would not stay there again.
Breakfast nice and everywhere clean but the noisiest room in the world

Room Tip: Don't bother..find somewhere else

Just had two nights at the Adria whilst helping our daughter move out of her student-let nearby.
Staff were friendly and there was always someone about soon after you rang the bell, room was small but clean as a whistle (as were all the public areas), breakfast was excellent value for money. Would definitely go back there / recommend a stay.
